Caracol Mayan Ruins Tour - Pacz Tours San Ignacio Belize
Read on below or Book Tour here:
Tour Guide Bruce of Pacz Tours, explains about Caracol and its link to the demise of the Mayan Civilization.
Welcome to Caracol.
We will start off by going to some of the residential structures and then we'll go to some of the bigger ones. We won't have enough time to go around the entire site as Caracol covers 55 square miles, with sub 36,000 structures. We'll do the epic center which contains about 79 structures two and a half kilometers.
We are at the South Acropolis group, which is a small residential complex for the extended families of the ruler. The first excavation done here was by Linton sorrow, back in the 1950s. They uncovered two burials of members of the royal family. Four more burials were also dogged by the University of Central Florida in the 90s. All four of them were proven to be members of the Royal.
Up until 1100s they were small groups but were the final abandonment. Our evidence suggests rapid abandonment. We from human remains on structures. Large numbers of Pattories in rooms buildings are working on and they never finish. Usually, they bury their dead and if you're planning to move you're supposed to take care of pots and pans. In this case, it looks like they never had time to do that, they were running for their life. At the same time what we found out is the increase of sacrifices in the cave. Between nine and eleven hundred AD. It got to the point where a lot more children or being sacrificed and even members of the royal family.
Caracol Archeological Site - Belize Mayan Ruins Tour.
Caracol Mayan Ruins Tour is unlike any other site in Belize. Because it’s so secluded, there’s more wildlife that calls it home–like the ocellated turkey, the keel-billed toucan, and the legendary mot-mot. And like the famous buried city of Cumae in Italy, most of the city still lies sleeping underground. But even the small fraction of buildings exposed to the air offer testament to the city’s majesty.
In addition to these extraordinary ruins, PACZ offers two stops on the way there or back: first, the breathtaking Rio Frio cave, with its eerie subterranean beach and ceilings high enough to fit a cathedral. You can try capturing it all in one camera shot, but no one’s ever succeeded!

Tikal in Guatemala Tour from Belize City or San Ignacio
Read on below or Book Tour here:
Tikal, city and ceremonial center of the ancient Maya civilization. The largest urban center in the southern Maya lowlands, it stood 19 miles (30 km) north of Lake Petén Itzá in what is now the northern part of the region of Petén, Guatemala, in a tropical rainforest. Uaxactún, a smaller Maya city, was located about 12 miles (20 km) to the north. The Tikal ruins are the central attraction of Tikal National Park, which was established in the 1950s and designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979.
The single most talked about Mayan ruin in Central America is Tikal and it’s a pretty short trip from Belize to Guatemala. Pacz Tours offers safe, all-inclusive, one or two-day excursions to Tikal National Park as it is one of the top things to do in Belize.
Pacz Tours’ Tikal Single Day Tour leaves at 7:30am and returns at 5pm. Your tour guide is with you the whole way to fill you in on the history of the area and answer questions. At the border, you will be assisted through all the stamping and fees by your guide. For the next three and a half hours, time will rewind a thousand years. You’ll hear the howler monkeys echoing off the temples and the spider monkeys swinging tree to tree.

GHOST HUNTING IN ACTUN TUNICHIL MUKNAL!
Actun Tunichil Muknal, also known as Xibalba, is located near the San Ignacio district of Belize. It was used by ancient Mayans for sacrifices. In the cave there are several skeletons, ceramics and stoneware. The cave is about 3 miles long but tourists only get to see a third of it. Archaeologists have access to the rest. The cave's upper passage called The Cathedral (which you see in this video) is located about 1/3 of the way in.
This truly was the coolest thing I've ever done. I'd love to go back and explore it again! I went with a tour group called Pacz tours. They were great and I'd definitely recommend them!

Belize Food: Cooking with a Belizean Family in San Ignacio
Read on below or Book Tour here:
On the way to the ATM tour, me and my lovely girlfriend were talking with Jamal, about the Belizean culture. How Belize is, the food and how much of it is a melting pot of different cultures. How those cultures come together to create excellent food.
Me being the foodie myself, I'm always on Yelp. I'm always on TripAdvisor, trying to for good food and also look for ways to eat some good food.
Talking with Jamal, he speaks to us about how they offer a tour that is pretty much the hands-on experience of actually creating real authentic Belizean food. We were very much looking forward to it. We did not know it was available, did not know that it was even offered. That you could actually go into a real Belizean family home to eat some real Belizean authentic Food.
This is something you NEVER thought you would be doing Belize!
That is Cooking your own Belizean Food with the help and guide of a Belizean Family in there home.

We are on a weekend trip to San Ignacio, Belize during our long term stay in Chetumal, Mexico. We have just one weekend to hit everything we love about Belize, and the food is at the top of our list.
But, of course, after we eat we need a place to stay! This time around, we are staying at Cahal Pech Village Resort but we’re also going to visit an old friend at our absolute favorite stay in San Ignacio, at Hannah Stables. Both of these places we found on Airbnb.
