New Zealand South Island - Queenstown
So the Glues continue their tour of the South Island of New Zealand.
We had an amazing time in the capital of adrenaline on New Years Eve (taking in some fireworks). We did some paddle boarding on Lake Wakatipu and played frisbee golf in Queenstown Gardens. We went on the jetboat on the Shotover river, followed by a helicopter ride across the valley, then jumping into white water rafts and paddling down the river. Finally we did a parachute jump from 12,000ft.
An amazing holiday all thanks to my amazing wife!!! Thanks Mrs Glue

Sneha Acharya Copko - EXPLORE ADDICTS - Kayaking In Queenstown, New Zealand. HD
Given how expensive Queenstown is, a new company – Paddle Queenstown – opened to offer kayakers a more affordable option to explore Lake Wakatipu. An even better draw, you’re able to take the kayaks out on your own with no guide (where all other water companies require this)! The kayaks were in fantastic condition and the team was beyond exceptional in service. We highly recommend Paddle Queenstown if you’re looking to explore the lake at your own pace.

New Zealand: Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu Cruise
The Earnslaw is a vintage steamship that evokes the feel of a bygone era when steamers and paddle wheelers plied Lake Wakatipu and ferried sheep, cattle and passengers to lakeside stations.
The Earnslaw, a twin-screw steamer named after the 3060-meter peak at the head of Lake Wakatipu, was built in the early 1900s in Dunedin on the southeast coast of New Zealand's South Island, dismantled, then transported by rail in numbered pieces to Kingston at the southern end of Lake Wakatipu.
In February 1912 the Earnslaw steamed on her maiden voyage to Queenstown. In service she became known as the Lady of the Lake. When most communities surrounding Lake Wakatipu became accessible by roads, it was planned to scrap the Earnslaw in 1968 but the Lady of the Lake was spared because of her historic value.
After a massive makeover in 1984, the Earnslaw was back on the water with a bright red funnel, white hull and glassed in timber decks.
In 1990, Queen Elizabeth II (Queen of England, Australia and New Zealand) and Prince Phillip were passengers on the Earnslaw as were, at different times, the King and Queen of Belgium and the Prince of Thailand.
Today the Earnslaw continues to ply Lake Wakatipu carrying passengers on scenic cruises and, as an option, visiting Walter Peak Station across the lake. Walter Peak Station is a high-country sheep farm open to visitors.
The Lake Wakatipu cruise gives passengers the chance to explore the Earnslaw's decks and bridge, view the engine room and historic displays in the Fo'c'sle Gallery, and join a sing-along with the ship's pianist.
Cruises depart regularly throughout the day from Queenstown. You can take the cruise by itself, or it can be combined with a visit to Walter Peak High Country Station for a guided farm visit, horse trek, barbecue lunch or evening buffet dining.

-- About this video --
Today we are doing a half day adventure with Canyoning New Zealand canyoning the Kawarau Creek. We are picked up in Queenstown by Canyoning New Zealand and are driven to our canyoning location in the Gibbston Valley alongside the Kawarau River.
Canyoning New Zealand has all the gear prepared in a trailed so we suit up then start walking toward the creek. We do a practice abseil, as abseiling is major activity in any canyoning in New Zealand. Then we are ready to go.
The Kawarau Creek quickly becomes a small canyon with waterfalls to get down, either by natural water slide or abseil down. There are a lot of narrow climbing sections too, as well as wading through water. This canyoning tour in Queenstown is a great introduction to New Zealand canyoning.
So what do you think of Queenstown canyoning? Would you do this adrenaline activity in Queenstown?
