The elaborate and exquisite carving seen in the Rajasthani furniture is a result of skilled Rajasthani craftsmen who take pride in their work and passing down through generations thus preserving the wealth of ancient crafts.
Rajasthani furniture commands incredible value in terms of beauty and grandeur. Bagore Ki Haveli: A splendid mansion in Udaipur
On the waterfront of Gangori Ghat in the vicinity of Pichola Lake in Udaipur, lays a splendid Mewar architecture, Bagore Ki Haveli. This 18th century building was built by a Mewar prime minister Amir Chand Badwa. The haveli now serves as a museum and is under the supervision of west zone cultural center. Media India group visited the Haveli and explored its different museums which includes live museum depicting the royal courts through puppets, a gallery featuring a surreal collection of world-famous monuments carved out of polystyrene and many exclusive stuff of Rajputs like jewellery boxes, dice-games, hukkas, pan boxes, nut crackers, hand fans, rose water sprinklers, copper vessels and other items of the erstwhile rulers. With more than 100 rooms and many courtyards also among the other attractions remains the intricate and fine mirror work, which is a Mewer tradition in Udaipur.
Haveli remains more colorful at evenings with the enjoyable performance of traditional dance and music of Rajasthan. Bagore Ki Haveli really is a perfect place to explore the ancient architecture and life style of the royal family.
