Pagla Baba Mandir is close to the holy and very ancient temple of the great Lord Shiva built by Lilananda Thakur from Bangladesh also known as Pagla Baba. This ashram has idols of Lord Krishna which weigh around 6ookg and are made of eight metals and are most revered by the devotees.
The Pagla Baba temple is around 8km from Deoghar and 3km from Jasidih Station. It is located on the road between Jasidih and Rohini. You will hear Hare rama hare Krishna chants all the time.
A story:
There was a poor Brahmin who was an ardent devotee of Banke Bihari (Krishna). Owing to the financial crisis, he borrowed some money from local money-lender. It was decided that the Brahmin will pay the entire amount in 12 instalments. In due course, the Brahmin happened to pay 11 instalments. But failed to pay the 12th one and requested for some grace-time to pay the debts. Mahajan was a mean fellow, instead of exemption or relaxation he filed a case in the local court for the non-payment of the entire amount.
The matter was taken to the court. The Brahmin was very upset. He told the judge in the court that the charges of Mahajan were baseless and he had paid all the instalments except one instalment. The judge asked for a witness who had seen him pay the money to Mahajan. After contemplating for a while, the Brahmin mentioned the name of the witness as Banke Bihari and gave the address of the Banke Bihari Temple.
The court issued summons and sent it to the address of the temple. When received, the summons was placed in front of Banke Bihari, the deity.
On the day of hearing an impressive old man appeared as a witness for the Brahmin before the judge. He testified that he was with the Brahmin when the money was paid and gave the details. His account of testimony turned out to be right. There were entries of the amount paid on different dates in the account of Mahajan which matched the description of the old man but the entries were on a fake name.
The judge got convinced of the mischief of the Mahajan and acquitted Brahmin. Now he got curious to know about the old man who appeared as witness. Brahmin said that it could be no one else than Banke Bihari Himself. He said that the Lord is omnipresent and he witnesses everyone and all the events.
The judge was so overwhelmed by the event that became an ardent devotee of Krishna.
He resigned and became a mystic leaving household. Many years later came back to Vrindavan and spent rest of the years serving Krishna. He was so absorbed in the service of the Lord that he didn't care for clothes, residence or food. He used to eat the remnants of the people. People used to call him crazy or 'pagal' and he came to be known as 'pagal baba'.
In due course the popularity of 'pagal baba' increased as Krishna devotee. People revered his devotion to Krishna. The Pagal Baba Temple was built by the followers. Devotees say they feel a positive vibe throughout the temple which is reminiscent of the spirit of Krishna devotee called pagal baba. The ten-storey high Pagal Baba Temple is a landmark structure in Vrindavan.
The kirtan is going on even after his death for 24 hours all throughout the year.

The early life of Pagal Baba is not known only bits of information are available. He was born at Balla Ratanhganj in Dist, Mymensing, now in Bangladesh. His father was Shri Kalicharan Chakravarty who was a merchant. But worldly business had no attraction for Baba Shree who took the path of Sanyas and roamed about in jungles, hills and caves in search of God.

Sometime prior to August 1947, Baba Sree came over to Assam where he organized Akhand Kirtan in a village called Sapatgram (Dist. Dhubri). His hut soon turned into a big Ashram and as he used to get lost in the fervour of Harinam Sankirtan, he was nicknamed “Pagal Baba” by his followers. Thereafter, he set up another Ashram at Borjhar (Dist. Darang) and stories of his magical “Lal Roomal” and miraculous curse of sick persons spread far and wide which attracted many followers from Guwahati, Kolkata and other places. In 1964, Pagal Baba arrived in Vrindaban which, according to him, was his real home where Lord Krishna had played his childhood ‘leelas’. He setup Lila Kunj Ashram and Rashbehari Mandir in Gyan Gudri, near Jamuna bank, starting Akhand Kirtan and Daridra-Narayan Seva. A few years later, he embarked upon construction of a marble temple, nine storied high, on the main road to Mathura. It was his conviction that this magnificent temple, a living abode of Gods and Goddesses, would in due course of time attract more people than Taj Mahal at Agra. He attained Mahasamadhi in July 1980.
