The Päijänne-Ilves trail offers hikers the opportunity to experience diverse nature. The route takes you through villages, countryside, moorlands and wetlands. The Saksala Manor is a national heritage site with a beautiful garden and ancient deciduous trees.
Enjoy the colourful display of wild flowers as you walk through the fields at Nyystölä village. The Cudgel War Memorial injects a sense of history into the picturesque village scene. The conservation area at lake Frans Joosefin Lampi offers views of a pristine natural landscape. At the end of the trail, the glimmering lake Iso-Tarusjärvi invites for a swim in its clean waters. The trail offers access to the vast network of hiking trails in Evo.

The Aurinko-Ilves trail passes through the beautiful surroundings of the Vääksy Canal to the vast network of hiking trails in Evo. The connecting route is suitable for experienced hikers and leads to the stunning landscape of Aurinkovuori, through paths and old forest tracks towards the woodlands and trails of Evo. The laavu huts and campfire sites in the woods provide perfect spots for resting and snacking along the way.
The scenery varies from the forest ridges of Aurinkovuori to beautiful lakes and the idyllic countryside around the village of Kurhila. The trail also takes in Syrjänsupat, a set of impressive ice-age kettle holes.

The extensive trail network of Ilvespolku offers plenty of opportunities for camping and nature enjoyment.The trail follows the shores of lakelets and a beautiful ridge formation. Take in the stunning views on the shores or from high up on the hills.

Kammiovuori, Sysmä
Kammiovuori is a beautiful place of peace and quiet. The mountain enchants visitors with its pristine nature and stunning views over forests and lakes. The majestic red pines and the glimmering lake create an unforgettable experience.
When you get to the top of Kammiovuori, you are standing in the second highest spot in Southern Finland. In addition to the beautiful views, the site has a seven-metre high boulder known as Linta, and the Cave of Hiskias where, according to local folklore, a hermit lived in the early 1900s.
After your ascent and a trek through scenic forest trails, you can have a well-deserved break at the new laavu hut and enjoy a picnic with your companions by a campfire.

The Lapakisto conservation area covers an area of 230 hectares, of which 18 hectares is covered by water. An impressive rockfall, stunning views over lakes from high up on the top of Pitkäjärvenvuori, and the vicinity of natural waterways make Lapakistoa lovely nature experience for ramblers of all ages. The routes offer varied landscape including deciduous and coniferous forests and lakeside paths.
The accessible trail down to the shore of Lapakisto offers excellent opportunities for hikers of all abilities to enjoy the beautiful lakeside scenery and a well-maintained rest stop with a campfire facility. The area has different types of trails of varying lengths that have been marked on trees with identifying colours.

Meandering through a tranquil spruce forest, Juustopolku is an old trading route between Heinola and Vuolenkoski. Walk in the footsteps of cheese sellers and enjoy the fragrant spruce forest and a free birdsong concert!
Juustopolku follows the shores of river Kymijoki in the shelter of a magical spruce forest. The eye rests on masses of soft moss on the sides of the trail. At the halfway point, the trail passes Kupparinkivi, a magnificent ice-age boulder which is said to have been the home of a local cupper (healer).Juustopolku is also popular with mountain bikers and trail runners.
