Pictures of inside and outside Paisley Park in Chanhassen, Minnesota
Paisley Park is a self-contained 55,000 square foot, $10 million creative-complex located in Chanhassen, Minnesota (about 22 miles outside of Minneapolis). Prince came up with the idea to build the complex while filming the movie Purple Rain.
Construction started on the project in 1986 and it was completed 1988. The complex contains 2 recording studios, a video editing suite, wardrobe department, sound-stage, offices, his music vault and living space.
Prince lived the last year of his life at Paisley Park.
These pictures were taken by the Carver Police Department the day of his passing as well as a couple weeks later during the execution of a search warrant.
Hopefully these photos give you a better appreciation for Prince. He lived a bit more humbly than most people would imagine. For people that have taken the tour, it'll give you the opportunity to see spaces in the complex off limits during the tours.
Because of copyright issues there is no Prince music in this video. Instead I have used music that means something to me. You might not like it or think it fits, but we all have different tastes. Something I think Prince would appreciate. You can always mute the music and play something else while you take a look.
Lastly, please don't leave negative comments about Paisley Park, Prince or his family. People have left comments alluding to the family looting and selling all his stuff. That is simply not true.

Prince DNA tests confirmed as nearly 700 American's claim to be singer's sibling
Prince DNA tests confirmed as nearly 700 American's claim to be singer's sibling
Nearly 700 men and women from all over the United States have rushed to claim they are Prince's long-lost half sibling as the dash to get a share of his fortune that could top $1billion heats up.
But only one looks likely to have a shot at proving she is actually a blood relative of the singer whose sudden April 21 death shocked the music world, the man who is leading the official hunt for relatives tells Daily Mail Online in an exclusive interview.
'Our phone has been ringing off the hook, I would say we have received between 600 and 700 calls,' Harvey Morse said.
'They run the gamut, literally from We lived in the same area so we must be related, to We have pictures of Prince at our family reunion.'
'But I like official documents,' he added. 'Birth, marriage, death, divorce certificates, census records, that sort of thing - papers that were drawn up without any thought of this eventuality.'
Bremer Trust, the bank looking after Prince's affairs appointed Daytona, Florida-based Morse Genealogical Services to sift through claims.
Prince is known to have one full-sister, Tyka Nelson, and five half-brothers and sisters, Sharon, Norrine and John Nelson, Omarr Baker and Alfred Jackson.
Two other half-siblings are dead. As Daily Mail Online reported exclusively, Duane Nelson has a surviving teenage granddaughter, Victoria, who is entitled to his share, while Lorna Nelson died without having children.
Prince was 57 when he was found dead in an elevator at his Paisley Park compound in Chanhassen, Minnesota, south west of Minneapolis. He left no surviving children from his two marriages and his parents, John and Mattie Nelson, are both dead.
Toxicology tests are still ongoing to see what killed him with evidence pointing towards an overdose of opioide painkillers that the singer was allegedly hooked on.
On Friday, Judge Kevin Eade, who is overseeing the estate, issued an order in Carver County, Minnesota, allowing for DNA samples to be taken from Prince's blood to help verify claims, giving those who believe they are related four months in which to file.
He ordered that blood be transferred from the Midwest Medical Examiner Office in Ramsey, Minnesota, where the autopsy was conducted, to a DNA diagnostic center in Fairfield, Ohio.
No will has been found. Under Minnesota law, half-siblings have as much claim on an estate as full siblings, so as it stands, his fortune would be split equally seven ways.
Prince's estate is estimated to be worth $300million, meaning Victoria and the six siblings would each get around $42million.
But it is expected to balloon with the after-death sales of his hits and the discovery of a giant trove of previously unreleased songs that the singer locked away in an underground vault at Paisley Park.
A record eight of his songs, Purple Rain, When Doves Cry, Little Red Corvette, Kiss, Let's Go Crazy, 1999, Raspberry Beret, and I Would Die For You, are currently in the Billboard Top 40.
Some estimates suggest his total worth could eventually reach 11 figures.
Already one woman, Darcell Johnston, who lives in suburban Chicago, has claimed she too is a half-sister, but Morse said he does not know about her case and she is not the woman whose claim he is looking into.
Johnston, 45, filed court papers last week saying she is an 'interested party and beneficiary' in the Purple Rain singer's estate.
Daily Mail Online has exclusively learned that she also filed for bankruptcy in 2011 claiming she had just $159 in her bank accounts.
The only other assets she listed were household goods worth $585, clothes worth $150, a six-year-old Nissan Altima with 158,000 miles on the clock worth $2,000 and $3,256 cash from a tax rebate
One Song Interlude - Prince - The Elite? You? Me?
Release date Approximately 1999
( While specific recording dates are not known, initial tracking is believed to have taken place in late 1999 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA. It is not known if the song was intended for any project beyond introducing the new millennium. )
Lyrics:
“1999… and the illusion continues. One begs to ask, “when will it end?” Unnatural disasters happen seemingly every week. Train crashes. Shootings. Nuclear accidents; Is there any place of refuge one can flee from this insanity? Very few of mankind’s creations are designed to make you feel good. Unless, you get pleasure from seeing the human body desecrated by guns, explosions, fights and any other things these so-called artist create. In the name of freedom, many have used art as a means to destroy the human mind. As an excuse to continue we hear “art reflects society.” How many times has this lie been repeated: “creations are not real,” they say and yet any one of these people can call to mind images and complete scenes of horror in graphic detail. They will carry these so-called “unreal” creations around with them for the rest of their lives. These images are now a part of their being. In the name of recreation these people in fact are re-creating themselves in their own images. Society then reflects art. In man’s decision to further separate from God his re-creation of himself leaves him in a dysfunctional state of confusion. The mind becomes a burial ground for dead waste. Isolated from the wholeness of God, earth and His fellow brothers and sisters. This man seeks solace in activities he thinks will stimulate his mind. He then begins downloading into his brain a series of manmade creations designed to destroy it.
All manmade creations originate from one of two sources: the Tree of Knowledge or the Tree of Life. One of these trees contained deadly fruit, the other – Fruit of Everlasting Life. The one who disregards this fact recreates himself and his kind into extinction. You are reading these words on a machine created by man. As you read, you hear a voice speaking to you the words that you perceive. They make sense to you because you understand, stand under the spelling. The words are what binds the spell to your illusion. When you hear the truth, like a memory you recognize it and this recognition releases you from all illusion. Many languages are brilliant in their attempt to confuse you. Con meaning: against, fuse: meaning together. Words and their spellbinding illusions have the power to keep man separate from God. You were born in all-knowing state of mind. The first words spoken to you begin the spell. The words come from one of two sources: the Tree of Knowledge or the Tree of Life. In ignorance or simply lack of respect for God many use words that confuse the minds of humans and turn them into projections of their own illusions. Because of this fact, many people grow up and blindly assume their preselected role under a dictatorship without even being aware of it.
When asked what they are doing on earth, most will answer with statements that do not reflect their natural God-given desires. This creates a pyramid-like structure with the dictator on top, and each level under knowing less and less. Upon reaching the bottom level, which is where the majority is you, will find chaos, disorder and illusion. With ill as its prefix, illusion is a state of insanity. In the name of democracy supreme power supreme power is vested unto the people in this insane state instead of God. A future recreated to be ruled by man, is one of isolation and despair. Returning the leadership back into God will allow mankind to achieve its original collective goal, which is union. Ideas contrary to this goal should not be blamed or persecuted – just simply ignored. They originated when man first chose to ignore God’s rule. Simply put – in the beginning the human was made perfect in God’s image. They had no need for knowledge. They were also given freedom of choice. The Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of life, are reflections of this freedom. The human is now a reflection of their choice. They could have simply chose not to choose. God being centrifugal in nature, freedom was the cause and choice was the effect. In knowing their perfection made in God’s image there was no need to choose. In fact, there were no needs. There was only love in all-knowing state before the fall. The worst thing you can do is give up your God-given right to choose. For in it – you can choose not to choose. Therein is the final judgment. The illusion ceases and you awaken from your dream, now the healing begins. With an all-knowing mind made in God’s image you can create as your creator – God intended. With Love, Honor and Respect for every living thing in the universe separation ceases and we all become one being, singing the one song…”
Prince's estate will operate studio complex Paisley Park
(27 Aug 2019) PRINCE'S ESTATE WILL OPERATE STUDIO COMPLEX PAISLEY PARK
Prince's estate will take over management of the late rock star's studio complex near Minneapolis.
Graceland Holdings, which runs Elvis Presley's tourist attraction in Memphis, Tennessee, had been operating Prince's Paisley Park in Chanhassen as a museum since October 2016.
Prince's oldest sibling, Sharon Nelson, says the family will manage Paisley Park because the contract expires at the end of September. She says the family is not unhappy with Graceland Holdings or making the decision because of economic reasons.
The Star Tribune reports Nelson says there are differences of opinions among the heirs, so the estate's administrator, Comerica, will be making the final decisions on how to operate the landmark.
Prince died at age 57 of an accidental overdose of fentanyl at Paisley Park April 21, 2016.
