The Palace Theater is located in the center of the state of Connecticut, 100 East Main Street, Waterbury -- 35 miles from each state border and conveniently located off I-84 and Route 8. The Palace Theater is a culture and tourist attraction as a historic venue recently renovated as part of a $200 million economic redevelopment project for the City of Waterbury and the State of Connecticut. Through the generosity of the State of Connecticut and $35 million dollars, the doors of the Palace Theater opened once again to the public on November 12, 2004, with all the grandeur originally designed by period architect Thomas Lamb, in what is described as a Renaissance Revival style, featuring an eclectic mix of Greek, Roman, Arabic and Federal motifs. Boasting grand lobby spaces and ornate dome ceilings, the Palace Theater provides a palatial setting fit for a king - but intended for the people of Waterbury.

Waterbury Connecticut Promotional Video
Hilarious promo video for Waterbury filmed in the late 80's (though it looks 1970's) during the Santopietro era. My fathers office was used to shoot some of the stairwell and reception shots in the Anaconda building.

Palace Theater In Superior Wisconsin Before Demolition
The Palace Theatre was designed by noted theatre architects Rapp and Rapp in 1917. The Superior, Wisconsin theatre closed in 1982 and except for brief use as a church in the late 1980's, was vacant until its demolition in November 2006, for which the mayor and city hall were criticized. The demolition of the building caused it to be listed on the National Historic Preservation's Worst of 2006 list of atrocities. This video was of a public tour given in Sept. 2002.
