The Palamathi Hills (also Balamathi, Balamathi Hills) are an extension of the Eastern Ghats spread across southeastern parts of Vellore City in Tamil Nadu. The Palamathi Hill range, the nearby Palamathi Reserve Forest, the Otteri lake is collectively referred to as Palamathi Hills. The area is a thriving hotspot for various birds and various flora. The hill top has a famous Hindu temple (Bala Murugan Kovil). The place is also a developing tourist destination.

We planned a one day trip to Bheema falls but when we started late we decided to stay a night in Vellore.

However we found a small hotel in Alangayam and stayed there. It was slow travel were we enjoyed the villages, spoke to some people and did not hurry even once to get back.

அக்காலகட்டத்தில் நாமக்கார சாமியார் அடிக்கடி கனவில்தோன்றி என்ன சாமியாரே பாலமதி மலைக்கு வந்துவிடு என்று அழைப்பார். அதற்கு இராமகிருஷ்ணன் சாது சரி சாமி என்பார். அது சமயத்தில் ஆறுபடை வீடுகளை சுற்றி வர ஒரு மாத காலம் ஆகும். அதனால் தந்தையிடம் அனுமதி கேட்டார்.

முதலில் பழனிமலை சென்று முருகனை தரிசித்து பாலமதி மலை எங்கு இருக்கிறது என்று ஒரு மனு போட்டேன். நேராக திருப்பதி சென்றோம். மேல்திருப்பதி தரிசனம் செய்துவிட்டு அங்கும் ஒரு மனு போட்டேன். அடுத்த நாள் கீழ் திருப்பதி வந்தோம். மாலை அருள்மிகு கோவிந்தராஜி பெருமாளை தரிசனம் செய்துவிட்டு கீழ் திருப்பதி எவ்வளவு தூரம் இருக்கிறது என்று பார்த்துவிட்டு வரலாம். நாளைக் காலையில் எல்லா கோயில்களுக்கும் தரிசனத்திற்கு சென்றால் நன்றாக இருக்கும் என்று எண்ணி அருகில் இருந்த தெப்பக்குளம் அருகில் அமர்ந்து ஓய்வு எடுத்துக்கொண்டிருக்கும்போது, அது சமயத்தில், ராயவேலூர், குளவி மேடு என்ற கிராமத்திலிருந்து இராமானுஜ மந்திரி என்பவர் எங்களை வணங்கினார். உட்கார வைத்து சில கதைகள் பேசிக் கொண்டிருக்கும்போது மனம் தனிமையாக இருக்க அடிக்கடி ஆலோசனை செய்தது. அதனால் பாலமதி மலையை எண்ணி சுற்றுப்பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போது கிடைக்கும் என்று உறுதியோடு வெங்கடேச பெருமானுக்கு ஒரு மனு செய்தேன். அதற்கு வெங்கடேசபெருமாள் குளவிமேட்டிலிருந்து ஒரு மனிதனை அனுப்பினார். அவரிடத்தில் எல்லா விளக்கங்களையும் சொன்னேன். அதற்கு அவர் எங்க ஊர் பக்கத்தில்தான் இருக்கிறது பாலமதிமலை. வேல் ஸ்தாபனம் செய்திருக்கிறார்கள். அங்கு பூசாரி இல்லை. ஊர்மக்கள், தலைவர் என நல்லவர்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள். நான் அழைத்து செல்கிறேன் என்று சொன்னார். அடுத்த நாள் குளவிமேட்டில் இரவு தங்கி காலை புறப்பட்டு காட்டுவழியாக பாலமதிமலை வந்து அடைந்தோம். அப்போது சுமார் 1 மணி இருக்கும்.மலைக்கு புறப்பட்டோம். அடிவாரத்தில் விநாயகர் கோயிலுக்கு மேலே ஒரு பாறை குன்று தெரிகிறது. அதன்மேல் ஒரு அடி உயரத்தில் ஒரு குழந்தை கையசைத்து சிரித்துக்கொண்டிருப்பதை கண்டேன். பக்கத்தில் உள்ளவர்களிடம் சொன்னேன். அதெல்லாம் ஒன்றும் இல்லை. அங்கு யாரும் இருக்க முடியாது. மலையின் மேல் நிழல் கூட இருக்காது என்று சொன்னார்கள். அதற்கு நானே வேகமாக ஓடிவந்து மேலே சென்று பார்த்தேன். குழந்தை அங்கு இல்லை, வேல் மட்டும்தான் இருந்தது.

ஆஹா இதென்ன ஆச்சரியம் குழந்தையும் காணவில்லை, ஒருவரும் இல்லை வேல்தான் இருக்கிறது. வேலவா நான் மலைக்கு வந்துவிட்டேன். எனக்கு அருளை கொடு என்று வணங்கினேன். பிறகு மலையை சுற்றிலும் பார்த்தேன் காடுகளாகவே இருக்கிறது. பழனி போலவே தோற்றம் அளிக்கிறது. கீழே வளைவுப்பாதைகளக் கண்டு மகிழ்ச்சி அடைந்து கொண்டிருந்தேன். ஸ்வாமிக்கு பூஜை செய்தேன்.பிறகு இரவு நேரம் ஆகிவிட்டது கிராமத்திற்கு வந்துவிட்டேன். சாமியாருடைய சமாதி இருக்கும் இடத்தில் படுத்துக்கொண்டோம். சாமியார் கனவில் காட்சி கொடுத்து, என்ன சாமியாரே பாலமதி மலைக்கு வந்துவிட்டாய் மலைமேல் போய் தங்கிவிடு என்று சொல்லி மறைந்தார்.1971-ம் ஆண்டில் பாலமதி மலைக்கு இராமகிருஷ்ண சாது என்கிற இளம் சாமியார் வந்து சேர்ந்தார். தன் திருக்கோயில் திருப்பணிக்காக முருகனே அவரை ஈர்த்து இங்கு அழைத்துக் கொண்டார் என்றால் மிகையாகாது. அவர் வந்த வரலாறு தெய்வீகம். தன் பக்த தம்பதிகளுக்காக கனக மழை பொழியவைத்த ஆதிசங்கரர் தன் அன்றாட உணவுக்கு ஒவ்வொரு வீடாக சென்று பிட்சை மூலமாக அன்னம் ஏற்று உண்பார்.
தான் முருகனிடம் பல ஆண்டுகளாக வேண்டிக் கொண்டதன் பயன்கிடைத்துவிட்டது. இங்கு தான் இனி நமக்கு வேலை என்று அங்கேயே நிலைத்துவிட்டார். தாய், தந்தை உற்றார் உறவினர் ஊர் அனைத்தையும் மறந்தார். ஊரார் இவரை பாலமதி சாமியார் என்று அழைக்கலாயினர்.விநாயகர் கோயில் திருப்பணி செய்தேன். கும்பாபிஷேகத்தை செய்துமுடித்து பிறகு திருப்பணியை தொடங்கினேன்.

இந்நிலையில் தான் பிப்ரவரி மாதம் 18 ஆம் தேதி ஜீவ சமாதி அடைந்தார்.
