Paleontological Museum - Rethymno, Crete
GREECE Crete - Rethymnon / Eleytherna - The museum.
Its about 25-30 Minutes from Rethymnon, driving around the beautiful area outside of Rethymnon.
The museum is very new, very organised and the exibition is great. Inside its not allowed to film or to take Photos. Anyway, you have to keep in mind that one of the sculptures at the famous LOUVRE Museum in Paris has a statue of a woman, known as the Lady of Auxerre. Here in the museum is the sister of the lady of Auxerre, the archaic sculpture of the Lady of Eleutherna.

Crete | The Nautical Museum in Chania Old Port. After strolling along the Venetian waterfront at Chania, from east to west, you'll come across a russet-painted building holding down the western end. This is the Nautical Museum, containing relics of naval warfare going back thousands of years as well as exhibits from the notorious Battle of Crete of 1941.

SUMMARY
=======
Crete (Greek: Κρήτη, Kríti ['kriti]; Ancient Greek: Κρήτη, Krḗtē) is the largest and most populous of the Greek islands, the 88th largest island in the world and the fifth largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, after Sicily, Sardinia, Cyprus, and Corsica. Crete and a number of surrounding islands and islets constitute the region of Crete (Greek: Περιφέρεια Κρήτης), one of the 13 top-level administrative units of Greece. The capital and the largest city is Heraklion. As of 2011, the region had a population of 623,065.
Crete forms a significant part of the economy and cultural heritage of Greece, while retaining its own local cultural traits (such as its own poetry and music). It was once the centre of the Minoan civilisation (c. 2700–1420 BC), which is the earliest known civilisation in Europe. The palace of Knossos lies in Crete.
