Pandav falls and caves, Panna Madhya pradesh
At a distance of 8 kms from Panna Tiger reserve is a quite and little waterfall called the Pandav falls and caves. It is believed that pandavas stayed at this very place during their exile. Hence the name pandav falls and caves.
600 meters from the gate through the forest will get you the steps that lead to the waterfall, here you can find a statue if Bhagat Singh. During the pre independence era he conducted a meet ups here and the first meet was attended by 13 members. Some animals like the spotted deer, blue nilgai, and sambar deer may be spotted grazing around.
Down the steps and it will lead you to a small pond with a water fall. In the monsoon the fall may look majestic. For now we were treated with very low flow of water at the fall. But that doesn't discount the beauty and peace the place has to offer.
At one side of the pond is the remains of the caves that commemorate legend of Pandavas stay here can be seen around the pond.
It is believed that water that springs from the steep lime stone are rich in natural minerals, It is said that sharing water from the spring between two or more people strengthen the relationship between them.
Entry to the falls are combined with safari at the reserve. If not tickets can be purchased at gate. At 25 per head for by foot. And car with 6 person will be charged at 300. Guide will be charged at 75.
This place let your soul soak into the sweetest view, sound and smell of nature.

Pandav caves are situated about 12 Kms from Panna Tiger Reserve towards Khajuraho. Pandav Falls lies in Panna Tiger Reserve area. Pandav caves and Pandav Falls both are located in same site. Pandavas visited this place during exile and stayed here during Mahabhartha Period. Freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad held a meeting of fellow revolutionaries at this place on 4th September 1929.

Panna National Park and Tiger reserve is a preserved forest area in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It was declared in 1994 as the twenty second Tiger reserve of India and the fifth in Madhya Pradesh, Panna was given the Award of Excellence in 2007 as the best maintained national park of India by the Ministry of Tourism of India. The Raneh Falls is a natural water fall on the Ken River, located in Chhatarpur district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The Ken River forms a 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) long, and 30 metres (98 ft) deep canyon made of pure crystalline granite in varying shades of colours ranging from pink and red to grey. There is a series of waterfalls in the canyon. The larger and smaller falls run all through the year. Other seasonal falls appear during monsoons.It is about 20 kilometres (12 mi) away from Khajuraho. The Ken Gharial Sanctuary is located at the confluence of the Ken and Khudar rivers further down from Reneh Falls. The Ken river here runs through a narrow gorge of igneous rocks rich in Granite and Dolomite. The Pandav Falls in Panna National Park is also located nearby.

So after visting the temples of Khajuraho, I went to Pandav Falls the next day in the morning. From Khajuraho I took an auto for Rs 100 to Bamitha which is 13 kms away. And from Bamitha, I boarded a bus to Pandav falls. In 30 minutes I reached Pandav falls. Pandav Falls is mentioned in Hindu epic, Mahabharata where the Pandavas brothers once visited this place.

The famous Pandav fall, named after the Hindu mythological characters, 'The Pandavas', who took an exile here at this fall. As per the story, they ran out of the water and one of the brothers 'Bheem' was asked to use his 'Gada' to dig water from land, being unable to do that, 'Arjun' shot an arrow on the cliff and water started dripping from it. Bheem got angry and hit the ground with his 'Gada' right in front of the cliff where Arjun had shot his arrow. This created the waterfall that feeds the whole water stream.
On the other hand, the cliff drips water since forever and never stops. It is also believed that the dripping water maintains the bond between lovers, and hence the couple drinks the water together.
There's also a cave where the Pandavas stayed. The catchment of the waterfall looks heart-shaped from one of the sides.
Love aside, be careful when you take a sip, as the bear claw marks on the tree beside is not less than a cautious sign.
Panna, a district lying on the north-east region in the state of Madhya Pradesh, sits on active diamond mines and is surrounded by rolling meadows with evergreen trees, colourful rocks, hills and breathtaking waterfalls.
The district is home to Panna National Park and has Ken river flowing through it, bringing wide variety of flora and fauna and thus being a Biosphere Reserve. The forest receives heavy rainfall during monsoon season, rejuvenating the dried up waterfalls or 'barsati nala'. These monsoonal water streams give the forest an alluring make over.
A place full of waterfalls with dizzying heights and a calm forest full of life, the Panna National Park can both, thrill you and calm you.
The National park is also declared as a 'Project Tiger' reserve in 1994 and is the 22nd tiger reserve of India. The reserve area lost all its tigers by year 2008, but in 2009 under Mr. R Shreenivasa Murthy(IFS) in collaboration with WWF and PATA, 2 tigers were reintroduced and now the reserve is flourishing with 52 tigers all-in-all in less than a decade. All thanks to the forest department for their care and maintenance.
