Mountain Biking in Anstey Hill Recreation Park

An easy roll through Anstey Hill Recreation Park. The park is a 362-hectare (890-acre) protected area established in 1989 and located approximately 19 kilometres (12 mi) northeast of Adelaide, South Australia. The park is a significant reserve of bushland in the foothills of the Mount Lofty Ranges and has recently been made available to Mountain Bikes.

Such a great place to explore and get out and ride. Trails for all levels of fitness and skill. Do it!

Press conference - Update on Sampson Flat fire

CFS advises that a bushfire at Sampson Flat in the Mount Lofty Ranges near One Tree Hill, Humbug Scrub, Para Wirra Recreation Park, Mount Crawford, Kersbrook, Birdwood, Gumeracha, Kenton Valley, Cudlee Creek area and Inglewood may threaten your safety.

The Sampson Flat fire is continuing to burn and cause concern in the following areas: Frank Barker Road at Humbug Scrub has active fire to the north and ground crews and aircraft are working in the area. Between Little Para Road, Deloraine Road and Watts Gully Road has active fire burning and ground crews and aircraft are working in the area. Between Gorge Road and Torrens Valley Road in the Cudlee Creek and Kenton Valley areas there is active fire burning in a southerly direction and crews are currently working here however some areas are inaccessible.

The entire fire perimeter of the Sampson Flat fire has pockets of free burning fuel; crews are actively patrolling and dealing with the fire edge.

The uncontrolled fire is burning in scrub and grass.

Check and follow your Bushfire Survival Plan and prepare for a bushfire in your area.

If your plan is to leave or you are not prepared, leave now.

Only leave if the path is clear to a safe place.

Trail Guide Tuesday - EP 1 Wednesday Loop/Revegetated Flow

Today we are out at Anstey's hill, and I'm checking out the trails there for the first time! Was a good morning on the bike and this place definitely has something for everyone!

This is the first episode on a new series I'm calling Trail Guide Tuesday where I bring you guys a preview of a trail and a brief overview of what to expect if you want to get out and shred the same trail!

Condons Walk Track - Donnellys Weir to Mt Monda

Located in Victoria, Australia, this walk was done on 15th July 2012. It was from Donnellys Weir and goes past Echo Tunnel along Condons Walk Track to Mt Monda. Donnellys Weir to Monda Yards form part of the Bicentennial National Trail which is 5,330 km or 3,312 miles long. It is one of the longest marked walking trails in the world. It can also be used for horses and bicycles.I found some fungus along the way, pictured. Does anyone know what it is? Also, not the creaking tree. This video is also in another of my YouTubes at and I provide a GPS location for that. Finally, I found a weather balloon radiosonde on that walk, also pictured with its battery pack. Condons Track
8 km, approx 3.5 hours - one way, Difficult
This walk is for experienced bushwalkers only and is very steep. Beginning on Road 17 just past Echo Tunnel, the track climbs the slopes of Mt Monda through ancient fern gullies and tall, wet Mountain Ash forest. From Road 9 Mt Monda return to Donnellys Weir via Condons Track, or follow the sign posts on Road 9 to Mt St Leonard. The entire circuit from Donnellys Weir to Mt Monda, Mt St Leonard and back to the weir is 21km and takes seven to eight
hours.
