Arrival of 192 Syrian and Palaistinian refugees at Chania [Rushes/Shots]
2015-05-13 || 192 refugees from Syria and Palestine were intercepted on Tuesday the 12th of May, at the sea near Paliochora, south of Crete and then transferred at Chania. 83 kids and babies among them.

ΒΡΑΧΟΝΗΣΙΔΑ ΚΑΠΑΡΕΛΙ
Η νησίδα ανήκει στο ευρύτερο οικοσύστημα του Ερημίτη το οποίο περιβάλλεται από παρθένες παραλίες μιας περιοχής άπειρου φυσικού κάλους, με δασικές εκτάσεις
εκατοντάδων στρεμμάτων όπου ζουν 220 διαφορετικά είδη πτηνών. Στις τρεις λίμνες της περιοχής υπάρχουν βίδρες καθώς και νεροχελώνες, ενώ την περίοδο της μετανάστευσης, πουλιά ,όπως οι ερωδιοί, τις χρησιμοποιούν ως τόπο ανάπαυσης.
Aντιδράσεις προκαλεί η δρομολογημένη εγκατάσταση μονάδας ιχθυοτροφείου στη
νησίδα Καπαρέλι, από εταιρεία που δραστηριοποιείται στον τομέα αυτό.
Ως τοπική κοινωνία ΑΝΤΙΔΡΟΥΜΕ!!! και λέμε

στην περιβαλλοντολογική καταστροφή και τουριστική υποβάθμιση της περιοχής μας
Γιατί θέλουμε να απολαμβάνουμε τις θάλασσές μας καθαρές
εμείς , τα παιδιά μας, και οι επισκέπτες μας.
Γιατί θέλουμε να γευόμαστε τα νόστιμα ψάρια που ψαρεύουν οι ντόπιοι ψαράδες μας.

Non official camperplace. No facilities. Very nice and sandy beach. In front of excellent taverne.
Probably not possible to stay in high season.
