Yelapa Mexico Parasail Ride May 2004
Yelapa Mexico May 2004, I did a Parasail ride in the bay at Yelapa, pretty interesting, the boat driver was weaving along the shoreline between anchored boats, I am drifting over the houses in the town, the tow rope looks like a old nylon ski rope, the parasail is faded and some of the stiching is rather worn looking, but! everything worked out great and I had a great ride with a nice landing back on the beach, good stuff!

Yelapa, Walk along the Beach into Town and see the Yelapa Waterfall
Yelapa (read more: is for those who enjoy finding hidden places or hideaways to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern civilization. Undoubtedly the place to look for these in the Banderas Bay area is to look south, there are a number of beautiful beaches, especially those that can only be reached by sea, among these Yelapa.
Yelapa is a fabulous little beach and town, so isolated that you feel as if you were on a tropical island in the South Pacific, for a long time even cellphones didn't work here and that was wonderful. 30-45 minutes south of Puerto Vallarta by sea, between the jungle and the waters of the Bay of Banderas and the small Yelapa bay.
Many famous authors and artists live and die dreaming of places like Yelapa, others have had the fortune to find it and live here for a while, at least, a favorite place of, for example, Bob Dylan.
The tranquility and privacy of the place makes it ideal for inspiration. The town is picturesque, the beauty that surrounds it, irresistible, the inspiration comes from the sea, the jungle and the mountains.
Where is Yelapa?
Yelapa is in the southern zone of the Banderas Bay, between Majahuitas Beach and Pizota (further west). It is about 20-30 minutes by water taxi (panga) from Boca de Tomatlan. You can only arrive by sea.
How to get to Yelapa from Puerto Vallarta
To get to the place there is only one way, by sea, you can take a boat from the Los Muertos Beach Pier (50-60 minutes), or travel by land in a bus (orange and while, from the corner of Basilio Badillo and Constitución in Puerto Vallarta's romantic zone) passing Mismaloya until you reach Boca de Tomatlan, the final destination of the public bus. From there take a water taxi, or panga , as they call them locally, the trip by sea takes about 30 minutes.
It is advisable to get to Playa Yelapa from Boca de Tomatlan, there are two docks to disembark in Yelapa Cabo Corrientes, one on the main beach by the side of Lagunita Yelapa Hotel and another in the town of Yelapa which is in the west side of the small Yelapa Bay.
The route of the boats usually includes quick stops at the beaches before reaching the destination, these may include Las Ánimas, Quimixto and Majahuitas depending on the rest of the passengers on the motor boat.
Among the favorite activities in Yelapa are going to see the Yelapa Waterfall and paragliding (parasailing too).
