Beautiful cycling routes: The Confederation Trail, Prince Edward Island
The Prince Edward Island section of The Great Trail is the perfect location for a bite-sized cycling tour. With plenty of services along the route (including cyclist-friendly guesthouses), visitors can pedal or hike across an entire province in under a week while sampling island-produced cuisine and breathing fresh maritime air.
The Confederation Trail is province’s most popular recreational trail. And while Anne of Green Gables continues to be the island’s shiniest tourism attraction, the Confederation Trail is gaining ground. Cyclists, thru-hikers and beginners from around the world have this trail on their bucket list!

Sailing the 1000 Islands. Cape Vincent, NY to Kingston, ON. Ep75
Ep75. In this episode of Cruising Off Duty, we sail west from Cedar Point State Park (NY) with the intention of stopping in Cape Vincent, NY. But, the town was flooded with the record high water levels, so all the city docks were under water and we ended up just looking at the town from our boat. We were planning to go to Kingston the following day (to pick up our missing folding bike from the Post Office) but now we had no choice but to go a day early. That was fine with us because we love Kingston and mooring at the Confederation Basin right in the downtown, just walking distance to everything, is awesome. Also, nothing allows you to sleep soundly, even in high winds, like knowing you are tied to a dock. Dense weeds seem to make having your anchor hold in high winds a bit Sketchy. So a free dock in Kingston was a bonus to going a day early.
I also get my Mavic Pro Drone up and give you the areal perspective of what the Kingston Harbor looks like.
We hope you enjoy this episode.
