Cycling trail from Trieste to Sečovlje
Parenzana is regulated cycling path, which leads along the trail of former railway from Trieste to Poreč.The former narrow-gauge railway line (width 760 mm) between Trieste and Porec, which operated between 1902 and 1935, was named after the word Parenzo - Italian naming the city of Porec. In Slovenia it is also known as Porečanka. Railway was main hinterland connection with seaside resorts and so the major contributor to the economic development of Istria.
Parenzana was 123.1 km long narrow-gauge railroad, connecting 33 Istrian towns from Trieste to Poreč. Today it leads through the territory of three countries: Italy, 13 km, 32 km Slovenia and Croatia, 78 km.

Slowenien-VLOG #3 - Portorož - Erste Eindrücke aus meiner Urlaubsstadt
15. Juni 2018:
Nachdem ich gestern nach rund 1200 Kilometern Anreise hier in Portorož angekommen bin, lege ich, was das Fahren angeht, heute eine Pause ein und erkunde ein wenig meinen Urlaubsort.
Aber eine kurze Autofahrt mußte ich dann doch machen, da der nächste größere Supermarkt im Nachbarort Lucija ca. 3 Kilometer entfernt liegt und ein erster Einkauf für das Wochenende nötig war.
Portorož ist eine Urlaubsstadt mit rund 2800 Einwohnern und bietet große Hotelkomplexe, Wellnesseinrichtungen, Spielkasino, ein Schwimmbad, Ferienwohnungen, Geschäfte, Restaurants und Cafés und die Adria mit Badestegen, einer belebten Promenade und einem künstlich angelegten Sandstrand. Portorož ist ein Ortsteil der Stadt Piran.
Ich habe mich in diesem Ort sehr wohl gefühlt und gebe euch in diesem VLOG einen ersten Eindruck von Portorož.

My friend, painter Repy Repija come to an intriguing idea to prepare an exhibition in a 550m long tunnel of ex-Narrow Gauge Railway Parenzana , leading from Trieste, Italy across a coastal part of Slovenia to Poreč, Croatia. 550 m long tunnel Valeta is situated in Slovenia and connects Strunjan and Portorož.
The Narrow Gauge Railway Parenzana was aborted before II.WW, but most of the tunnels and buildings along the ex-Parenzana railway line are now in use on a different way.

100 artworks on the exhibition Repyartrium Tunnel Parenzana
Repy Repija decided to exhibit 100 artworks in acrylic technique / format 90 x 90 cm / along the sides of tunnel, 50 of them at each side.
Short Biography
Repy Repija was born in 1956 in Bihac, studied at the College for Applied Arts and at Academy of Visual Arts in Sarajevo. From 1982 to 1987 he worked as an independent artist in Sarajevo. Repy moved to Berlin, Germany in 1988 where he devotes his time to painting. His studio is located in the Handjerystrasse 29, 12159 Berlin. In February 2010 he moved to Piran Slovenia where he lives and works.
