Srinagar is a very pretty town with river Jhelum running through it and the many bridges connecting the two banks over several canals.
Dal lake,with a surface area of 18 sq.kms,this lake is set in one of the most gorgeous surrounding,with the sprawling city on one side and flanked by giant Mountains on the three other side.
As we took the tour of Dal lake in the brightly colored Shikaras,we passed by a market floating on water and pretty flowers growing in water.

Chashme Shahi (translation: the royal spring), also called Chashma Shahi, is one of the Mughal gardens built around a spring by Ali Mardan, a governor of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, in 1632.
This garden is the smallest of the three famous Mughal Gardens of Kashmir namely Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh and Chashme Sahi.
The garden is located in the Zabarwan Range, near Rajbhawan (Governor's house) overlooking Dal Lake in Srinagar, Kashmir.

Pari Mahal, also known as the name of ‘The Abode of Fairies’, is a seven terraced garden located at the top of Zabarwan Mountain in Srinagar and south west of Dal Lake. It is as much a monument as garden and is just a five minutes drive from Chashmasahi. An ancient Buddhist monastery located inside the garden has been converted into a school of astrology. The garden was established by Dara Shikoh, the son of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the mid of 1600s on the ruins of the Buddhist monastery. He dedicate the garden to his Sufi teach Mullah Shah. Now, the garden has become a property of the government of Srinagar.

The best time to visit Pari Mahal is between April and September as the weather is pleasant during summers with the maximum temperature ranging from 20 to 30 degrees Celcius and minimum ranging from 8 to 18 degrees Celcius. October through March are the coldest months that receive snowfall and the temperature between 6 to -2 degrees Celcius.
How To Reach Pari Mahal
Pari Mahal is just about 10 minutes drive from the Chashm-E-Shahi. Visitors can rent cabs to reach the breathtaking Mahal via Gupkar Road. From Srinagar, Pari Mahal is about 13 kilometres away.
TIPS
1. Tourists need to carry Identity Proof to enter the Mahal Premises.
2. The belongings are scanned for security purposes before allowing entry into the Mahal.
3. There are provisions to get photographs clicked in the traditional Kashmiri outfits.
4. The temperature usually is very cold, so carry enough warm clothes along.
5. Most of the structure is in ruins, so watch your step while exploring especially on the staircase.
6. Carry enough water for the trip.
7. Do not litter.
8. Pari Mahal is a perfect site to get your picture clicked.
9. The structure is now in ruins and has no proper protection on the sides. So, be careful if visiting with smalls children.

It is an example of Islamic architecture and patronage of art during the reign of the then Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan.
The Pari Mahal, or Palace of Fairies, was built as a library and residence for the Mughal prince Dara Shikoh in the mid-1600s.
Dara Shikoh was said to have lived in this area in the years 1640, 1645, and 1654. It was further used as an observatory, useful for teaching astrology and astronomy.
While some scholars believe that this palace got its name after Dara Shikoh’s wife, Pari Begum, others believe that the place was originally known as Pir Mahal, which later changed to Pari Mahal.
The gardens have since become the property of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Pari Mahal has also been used as a top-secret interrogation centre and as a base for high-level bureaucrats.
The gardens have numerous colorful flowers and exotic fruit plantations and offer a dazzling venue straight out of a fairytale. It is also believed that the Pari Mahal was once a Buddhist monastery. Later on, the Mahal served as a school of astrology for prince Dara Shikoh. The view from the top of and the atmosphere of the grand structure is sure to give you a glimpse of the Mughal lifestyle and their love for nature.
The garden expands across a length of 123 metres and is about 63 metres wide. The outer wall has 21 arches built in a series in descending order. The entrance is on the third terrace with two spacious rooms on either side of the hall.

So well basically I decided to go, Pari Mahal, today as it was a beautiful day and I wanted to show you guys the winter look of this place and how it looks during the winter. Usually, during the winter it's quite peaceful, unlike the summers it gets super crowded with a lot of flow of tourist coming and visiting this place.. So at this time of the year, it was very quiet and claim no much noise. I loved it!
A lot of restoration process was going on in the place to maintain the beauty.
