Arica & Parinacota - Putre y Lago Chungara
Program in chilean north
Day 01 Arica -- Putre
Welcome at the airport. Tour starts with a visit to a farmers' market to experience the local atmosphere. Then, we will enter the Azapa Valley, with a view of La Tropilla Geoglyphs and a visit to San Miguel de Azapa Archaeological Museum, where you may see 7,000 year-old Chinchorro mummies. Later, we head towards Lluta Valley for a short hike to observe Candlestick Cactus. Lunch included. Visit to the pre-Inca fortress of Copaquilla and the Aymara village of Socoroma. Arrival in Putre. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Kukuli or Terrace Lodge.
Day 02 Surire Salt Lake
Breakfast in the hotel. Visit to the altiplanic villages of Ancuta and Guallatire, situated over 4,000 meters above sea level, at the base of active Guallatire Volcano. Arrival to Chicaya and to Surire Salt Lake to admire amazing flamingoes and local fauna. Trip continues to the hot springs of Polloquere (4,270 meters above sea level) for picnic lunch and bathing. Return to Putre. Overnight.
Day 03 Lauca National Park -- Arica
Breakfast in the hotel. Visit to Bofedal de las Cuevas and trekking to observe wild animals, such as vicuñas and vizcachas, and to become familiar with bofedales, basis of the ecosystem in these high plains. We will admire a large variety of birds, including Northern pitios, wild geese (guallatas), Andean seagulls, pink flamingoes, the giant condor, and different species of ducks. Arrival at Chungara Lake (4,500 altitude) and Cotacotani Lagoons. Picnic lunch and hike in the village of Parinacota, with its distinctive 17th century church. Visit to Jurasi hot springs, where you may enjoy a refreshing bath. Return to Arica approx. at 6pm. End of our services.

Desde Tomarapi, en las faldas del volcan Sajama, atravesando el altiplano boliviano, las zonas de aguas termales y el desierto volcánico que llega a los Payachatas: el Pomerape (6282m) y el Parinacota (6348m). Espectacular amanecer en el único día del año en el que el sol sale por el mismísimo cráter del Sajama. Mi Mavic pro batió su record de altura de vuelo, a 6618 m

Especialidad que fomenta una forma de desarrollo en la zona andina, en esta oportunidad ParinacotaTV los acompaña en una ruta Mountainbike desde el Volcán Taapaca pasando por Las Termas de Jurasi por un camino antiquísimo hasta llegar a Putre. Actividad a cargo de los profesores Raúl Huentecura Condori y Marcos Iglesias.La parte técnica esta a cargo del guía de montaña Álvaro Mamani y guía de Mountainbike Pablo López.

Chungará is a lake situated in the extreme north of Chile, in the Altiplano of Arica y Parinacota Region in the Lauca National Park. It is the 29th highest lake in the world (and the 10th highest in South America). It is near the volcanos Parinacota (20,827 feet or 6,348 metres) and Pomerape (20,413 feet or 6,222 metres). It was formed 8000 years ago, when a major collapse of the edifice of Parinacota produced an avalanche of 6 km³ of debris which blocked drainage pattern, thus creating the lake.

Parinacota Sombras de un 6.000
Este documental narra el recorrido de la expedición BMW-Mini Ralons Gran Canaria, liderada por el alpinista Javier Cruz, acompañando al luchador Juan Espino, el Trota, en el intento de alcanzar la cima del volcán boliviano Parinacota (6.340 metros).
Esta aventura es parte del proyecto que intenta acercar las montañas de todo el mundo a los canarios, una idea original del alpinista Javier Cruz y el periodista Alberto Artiles. El documental lleva la firma del documentalista y fotógrafo Pedro Cubiles. Un proyecto que ha contado con el apoyo del grupo Ralons, del Cabildo de Gran Canaria y del periódico Canarias7.
La cinta recoge el periplo de los cuatro componentes de la expedición por el país andino hasta llegar a la base del Parinacota en el Parque Nacional de Sajama, en la frontera entre Bolivia y Chile. Además, el documental cuenta todo el proceso de aclimatación, la ascensión al volcán y la desaparición del director del documental, Pedro Cubiles, durante la bajada de la montaña.

Este martes 4 de febrero recién pasado se realizó un actividad de limpieza en el Lago Chungara , actividad coordinada por La Ilustre Municipalidad de Putre , CONAF y voluntarios tanto militares como civiles , estos últimos provenientes de la ciudad de Arica. Parinacota Tv señal 11 de putre realizó un registro de la actividad que da cuenta el grado de contaminación que sufre esta área protegida y revela testimonios de los participantes.
