Park Kyong-ni Prize (Korean: 박경리 문학상) is an international literary award based in South Korea. It was established in 2011 in honor of Park Kyung-ni, best known for her series Toji. The award was founded and sponsored by the Toji Foundation of Culture. According to complete review, it was established to be the primary international literary award of South Korea. With a cash prize of $100,000 it is one of the richest literary prized in the world.
2014 PAK KYONGNI LITERATURE FESTIVAL
The Pak Kyongni Literature Festival is an event to commemorate the writer Pak Kyongni’s literary legacy and her philosophy of life, and to strengthen humankind’s wish for love, peace, and justice.
1.Pak Kyongni Creative Poetry and Music Presentation
'Commemoration of Another Face of Pak Kyongni'
Kyongni's poems will be enjoyed not only in the form of narration, but also in the form of music, such as songs and chamber music.
2.Pak Kyongni's Prose Narration Competition
This was a competition among residents and youth to best narrate memorable quotes from Pak Kyongni's novels and proses.
3.National Youth Writing Competition
Young children and youth will be given the opportunity to nurture their dream of becoming a writer at the place where Pak Kyongni lived, and will have the cultural experience of watching a play from the Hakchon Theater Company.
4.The Play titled'The boxer and the boy‘
The Hakchon Theater Company will perform a youth play for writing competition participants and locals. The play was originally written by the Creative Writing Lab at TojiCultural Center, founded for writers and artists by Pak Kyongni, and adapted by the director Min-Ki Kim.
5.The Literary Forum
This is an annual academic forum to review Pak Kyongni's representative work, Toji, from different angles. In 2014, the Donghak Peasants' Revolution was the key theme to explore Toji in commemoration of the 120th anniversary of the Donghak Peasants 'Revolution; related presentations and discussions were made.
Renowned writers and scholars also shared their personal memories about Pak Kyongni as a person under the theme of 'The Pak Kyongni I Met.'
6.Celebration Concert
A celebration concert for the Pak Kyongni Prize will be held by the Euro-Asian Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Nan Se Kum.
7.The Pak Kyongni Prize Award Ceremony
The Pak Kyongni Prize, a writer's prize commemorating the writer Pak Kyongni, will strengthen human kind's wish for love and peace by being awarded to a writer whose works are regarded as great literary achievements in the view of life-honoring spirits and consolation to suffering people throughout the world.
8.2014 Pak Kyongni PrizeWinner's Lecture
The lecture will introduce the Pak Kyongni Prize winner's works and point of view in literature to Korean readers.

The INNERview Ep180 Israeli Writer Amos Oz, the Winner of the 2015 Park Kyong-ni Prize
In October, 2015, an Israeli writer Amos Oz was selected as the winner of the 2015 Park Kyong-ni Prize. The prize was established in 2011 to commemorate the literary spirit of Park Kyong-ni,(1926-2008) who wrote of the Korean people in the modern and contemporary history. The prize is awarded each year to one novelist who has made a distinguished contribution toward the development of world literature.
World renowned Amos Oz visited Korea for the first time in his life to receive the prize. He is known to bring out through his writing most inner part of human nature and describe complex relationships. Since 1965, he has been very active as a writer, publishing 38 books. He has received many rave reviews and international literary awards for his works.
′The INNERview′ met with Amos Oz at the Park Kyong-ni House, located next to the Toji Foundation of Culture in Wonju, Gangwon-do where the Park Kyong-ni Prize award ceremony recently took place. The Park Kyong-ni House is the place where the writer herself resided for 18 years from 1980 and holds many of her keepsakes, which are now on display for the public.
Along with Oz′s receiving of the prize, ′THE INNERview′ also shows him visiting the Demilitarized Zone that divides the Korean Peninsula into two, a symbol of great tragedy.

′The INNERview′는 아모스 오즈를 만나기 위해 2015 ’박경리 문학상′ 시상식이 열리는 강원도 원주 토지문화관 바로 옆에 위치한 박경리 문학공원을 찾았다. 이곳은 한국 여류소설가 박경리가 1980년부터 18년간 지내던 곳으로 박경리의 유품들 및 옛집이 고스란히 보존되고 있다.
또 이번 촬영에서는 아모스 오즈가 ′박경리 문학상’을 수상하는 영광의 순간과 한국이 세계유일의 분단국가라는 냉혹한 현실을 엿볼 수 있는 ′DMZ′를 직접 방문하며 돌아보는 그의 모습도 담았다.
이번 주 ′The INNERview′에서는 인간성의 보편적인 성찰을 다뤄 독자들을 이끄는 강한 힘을 지닌 현대 히브리 문학의 거장, 아모스 오즈를 만나본다.
2017 Interview with the Recipient of the Pak Kyongni Prize
Dame Antonia Susan Byatt received the seventh Pak Kyongni Prize at award ceremony held at the Toji Cultural Center in Wonju on October 28. Dame Byatt could not attend the award ceremony in person because of issues with her health and so Martin Fryer, Director, British Council Korea, received the award in her place.The Toji Cultural Foundation was hand over the award to Ms A. S. Byatt at a ceremony at her home on November 13 2017.
