Banff National Park - Parker Ridge Trail
Located on the border of Banff and Jasper National Park, this 2.5km trail leads to the crest of Parker Ridge, where you can enjoy the stunning views of the Saskatchewan Glacier flowing out from the Columbia Icefield. You can't find a more rewarding short hike than this!
The exposed crest of Parker Ridge is a windswept land of rock, snow and treeless tundra. Its climate is dictated by high elevation and the nearness of the Columbia Icefield. It's a world of dramatic contrasts, ranging in scale from close-up views of tiny alpine flowers to the sweeping vista of the icefield.

Parker Ridge Trailhead Hiking Trail along the Icefields Parkway is a hiking trail which takes you to the hills and hilltops for some spectacular views and scenery. It was used for Avalanche Control Munition and you can still see some of the debris and explosives munitions. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH the explosives Munition if you see them with your eyes. They are VERY OLD and can explode without warning. You are NOT on a De-Mining Mission and if you see anything, please FOLLOW the instructions on the display board there. This becomes a safety issue NOT ONLY for yourself but all those who are around you or maybe hiking in the same area. BE SMART, let the professionals deal with what they do best.
Therefore, this area has some of the most beautiful sights you can visit and hike and even camp. Close by there is Tangle Creek Fall. Another close-by Tourist Attraction is Panther Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and Icefields Crazy Curve Road and many waterfalls and streams and creeks and rivers. Camp in and around this area and find out.
