Beach Side Skate Park : Parksville Vancouver Island Canada
City of Parks Skateboard Park
Parksville's only skateboard park is located at the Community Park beside the volleyball courts. There are half pipes, boxes, rails and ramps for all skill levels and it's not unusual to see experienced skateboarders patiently co-existing with young children on bicycles.
The park is used primarily for skateboarding and BMX biking.
The use of helmets is recommended at all times for all users. Additional regulations are posted on-site at the skateboard park and all users are asked to follow skate park etiquette.

Homeless Camping in Parksville City Parks
The BC Supreme Court recently ruled that municipalities can't prohibit homeless individuals from taking up overnight accommodation on public land. This means communities such as Parksville, have had to make some changes to their bylaws.

Wasteland To Playland
PORT ALBERNI - A trio of entrepreneurs are trying to transform part of Port Alberni's waterfront from wasteland to playland.
The plan is to take a piece of land once occupied by a plywood mill and turn it into a specialized park for kite boarders and windsurfers.
Like so many communities across the province traditionally dependent on the forest industry, Port Alberni is going through a transition - relying less on heavy industry and more on its natural assets to draw tourists into town. And if all goes to plan, that's exactly what this kite boarding venture will do.

Vancouver Island
Been wanting to check out Vancouver Island for over a year now. After putting it off and feeling the end of summer approaching Seth and I on a spur of the moment sent it up there and met up with Eubey who put us up and showed us around. Had such a killer weekend. Had a Nanaimo bar for the first time, skated Sixside in the dark and hit up the always rad Canada community center hot tub/suana combo. Thanks Jono and Influence boardshop for letting us skate!
