Oshawa
Oshawa is a city in Ontario, Canada, on the Lake Ontario shoreline. It lies in Southern Ontario approximately 60 kilometres east of downtown Toronto. It is commonly viewed as the eastern anchor of the Greater Toronto Area and of the Golden Horseshoe. It is the largest municipality in the Regional Municipality of Durham. The name Oshawa originates from the Ojibwa term aazhaway, meaning the crossing place or just (a)cross.
Oshawa’s roots are tied to the automobile industry, specifically the Canadian division of General Motors Company, known as General Motors Canada. Founded in 1876 as the McLaughlin Carriage Company, General Motors of Canada's headquarters are located in the city. The automotive industry was the inspiration for Oshawa's previous mottos: The City That Motovates Canada, and The City in Motion. The lavish home of the carriage company's founder, Parkwood Estate, is a National Historic Site of Canada, and a backdrop favoured by numerous film crews, featured in many movies including Studio 54, Billy Madison, Chicago, and X-Men.

Parkwood Estate Oshawa, ON
Durham's hidden gem. Parkwood Estate, home of the founder of General Motors from 1917 until 1972. It is also a popular location for filming commercials and many movies such as fever pitch, billy madison, amelia and more. We did not get a chance to tour inside the estate so this short video is only the gardens of Parkwood Estate. We will go back for sure for photos and videos with the kids.
A Disappointing 'Ohh or Ughh
During a public event at the Canadian Automotive Museum in Oshawa, Ontario, Rachel, Susan and a small group of attendees were conducting a P-SB7 ghost box session.
Rachel had tried to end the session earlier, when everyone heard a voice cry for help. They had decided to continue on for a bit longer with the hopes of learning why this spirit needed help.
Without any responses, it was decided to end the session. When Rachel turned off the device she joked before someone says 'help'. Clearly someone was not impressed as a disppointing ohhh or moan can be heard right after.

X-Men (2000) Mansion/School Filming Location
This video is NOT targeted at kids under the age of 13.
Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Professor X's mansion. Charles Xavier's house... Whatever you want to call it, you know what it is if you've ever seen any X-Men movie, animation, or read any X-Men comic. In different live action movies, different locations have been used for this fictional place. In fact, in 2003's X2: X-Men United, they used Hatley Castle in Victoria, Canada (near Vancouver), which was also used as Lex Luthor's mansion on Smallville, as well as Oliver Queen's mansion on Arrow. But in this video, I visit the filming location from the first X-Men movie of the year 2000 - which is Parkwood Estate in Oshawa (part of Ontario, Canada. It's about a 45 minute drive from Toronto). This is a historic house because Samuel McLaughlin (founder of General Motors of Canada) once lived here. This estate has also been seen in many other movies - such as 1995's Billy Madison (starring Adam Sandler). For anyone interested in visiting Parkwood Estate, I'll leave the location info below:
