Taktshang and Paro Dzong are two of the finest examples of Bhutanese architecture. Below the dzong, a traditional wooden covered bridge called Nyamai Zam spans the Paro Chhu. The original bridge was washed away in a flood in 1969 and the present one is a reconstruction. Earlier versions of this bridge were removed to protect the dzong. The bridge was also shown in the movie Little Buddha by Bernardo Bertolucci Below the town of Paro, the river runs immediately to the west of Bhutan's only international airport. That airport is renowned for the hair-raising final approach.

Bhutan - Paro River(Chu)
The river is in the middle of the town. The natural beauty and scenic landscapes are truly amazing. Paro River has clean running water. Paro Chhu in Bhutan means Paro River. It is one of the biggest rivers in Bhutan and it is flowing in Western Part of Bhutan. Paro town is situated on the banks of this river. Hydroelectric power is generated from this river.
The water looks clean and cold. River rocks, large and small, are along the river as it swiftly flows through Paro. The Paro River runs through several cities and towns on its run from the glaciers and snowfields in the Tibetan Himalayas. Depending on the time of year, it can be a torrent of rushing water and dangerous rapids; other times a lazy river with a strong flow carrying you downstream at a leisurely pace.

There is not legalized fishing, the rivers were full of fish. All of the rivers in Bhutan are full of rocks and are a naturalists dream - hard to access them - and since most Bhutanese don't swim, it doesn't seem that going to the river to chill out.

The lower Paro Chhu river is a good stretch of about 7 kilometers (4.3 mi) for beginner/intermediate kayakers. This stretch has many small, boulder rapids and wave trains. There is one class IV–V boulder choke, about 3 km from the put-in, which can be run on the left and scouted from the right. It is suitable for kayaks only as the river is too small for a raft to be enjoyable. After this, the river enters a short, scenic canyon with more class II–III rapids. The stretch ends at Chhuzom. More experienced kayakers can continue down the Wong Chhu.
Chhuzom (Chhu means river and zom mean join) is the place where Paro Chhu and Wong Chhu meet. For many traditional Bhutanese this confluence is considered the union of a father and mother river. Paro Chhu represents the father and is sometimes called the Pho Chhu, Wong-Chu represents the mother. Because Bhutanese traditions regard such a convergence of rivers as inauspicious, there are three chortens here to ward off evil spells in the area. Each chorten is in a different style of Bhutanese, Tibetan, and Nepali. The upper reaches of Wong Chhu, above Chhuzom, are sometimes referred to as Thimphu Chhu.

Dangerous Plane Landing - Bhutan | 2015 is my today's video. Aircraft Landing in a Dangerous Runway, Paro, Bhutan. Paro Airport is the sole international airport of Bhutan. The airport is located 6 km (3.7 miles) from Paro in a deep valley on the bank of the river Paro Chhu. With surrounding peaks as high as 5,500 m (18,000 ft) it is considered one of the world's most challenging airports. As of October 2009 only eight pilots in the world were certified to land at the airport. Flights at Paro are allowed under visual meteorological conditions only and are restricted to daylight hours from sunrise to sunset.

Rinpung Dzong is a Buddhist monastery and fortress of the Drukpa Lineage of the Kagyu school in Paro District, Bhutan. It houses the district Monastic Body and government administrative offices of Paro Dzongkhag.
National Museum of Bhutan is a cultural museum in the town of Paro in western Bhutan and it was established in 1968 and renovated ancient Ta dzong building under the command of His Majesty, the King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, the third hereditary Monarch of Bhutan. The necessary infrastructure was created to house some of the finest specimens of Bhutanese art, including masterpieces of bronze statues and paintings.

Road trip from Chuzom to Paro: Bhutan
Travelling the mountain roads of Bhutan between Chuzom and Paro.
The distance of about 55 kms from Paro town and about 50 km from airport takes around 1hr excluding the stops. Drive south following Pachu River to the river confluence at Chuzom. Along the way to Chunzom, you will first pass villages like Bondey, right after the airport. Then the next village is Shaba and at Isuna, the road crosses bridge to the other side of river. Just 5 kms before Chuzom is Tamchog Lhakhang, a private temple owned by the descendents of famous Tibetan bridge-builder Thangtong Gyalpo. Chhuzom (Confluence) is the juncture of Thimphu river (Wang Chu) and Paro river (Pa Chhu). Chuzom is also a major road junction, with southwest road leading to Haa (79 km), south road to Phuntsholing (141 km) and northeast to Thimphu (30 km). From Chuzom, the road follows Wangchu River upstream as you pass through villages and suburbs to the capital, Thimphu.

বাই রোড ভুটান ভ্রমনের বিস্তারিতঃ পর্ব-৪(শেষ পর্ব)
(পারো সিটি, পারো এয়ারপর্ট এবং টাইগার নেস্ট)
আমরা এখন যাচ্ছি চেলালা পাস থেকে পারোর শহরে। পারো শহরটি মুলত চারদিকে পাহাড় বেষ্ঠিত একটি ভ্যালি। ভুটানের একমাত্র আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দর এই পারোতেই । শহটির গুরুত্ত অনেকগুন বাড়িয়ে দিয়েছে এয়ারপোর্ট থাকার কারনে। পারো শহরে ঢুকার আগেই পেয়ে গেলাম পারো এয়ারপোর্ট বার্ডস আই ভিউ পয়েন্ট। সেখান থেকে দেখে নিলাম একটি বিমানের টেক অফ। চারদিকে পাহাড় থাকার কারনে পারো এয়ারপোর্টে বিমান ল্যান্ডিং এবং টেক অফ অনেক জটিল। একটু এদিক সেদিক হলেই পাহাড়ে আছড়ে পরার সম্ভাবনা থাকে। দক্ষ পাইলট ছাড়া বিমান আবতরন করা খুব কঠিন। ঢাকা থেকে বিমানে আসতে হলে এই এয়ারপর্টে নামতে হবে। ঢাকা থেকে পারো শুধুমাত্র ড্রুক এয়ার এর বিমান চলাচল করে। ভাড়া ২৫,০০০ টাকা থেকে ৪০,০০০ টাকা।
পারো এয়ারপর্ট দেখা শেষে আমরা চলে যাই পারো শহরে। পারো শহরটি পারো নদীর তীরে অবস্থিত। নদীর তীরে বিকেলটা কাটিয়ে চলে হোটেলে চলে যাই।
পরদিন সকালে ঘুম থেকে উঠে বেরিয়ে পরি। আজকের গন্তব্য টাইগার নেস্ট। যাওয়ার পথে একটি হোটেলে নাস্তা সেরে নেই। তারপর শুরু করি টাইগার নেস্ট ট্রেকিং।
টাইগার নেস্ট মুলত একটি বুদ্ধিস্ট মনেস্ট্রি। টাইগার নেস্ট এর উপরে উঠতে প্রায় আড়াই থেকে তিন ঘন্টা লাগে। নামতে এক থেকে দেড় ঘন্টা। তবে যাদের ট্রেকিং করতে সমস্যা তাদের জন্য সুখবর হল প্রায় অর্ধেক রাস্তা ঘোড়ায় চড়ে উঠা যায়। তবে টাইগার নেস্টের আসল মজা হল ট্রেকিংয়ে। অর্ধেক রাস্তা যাওয়ার পর একটা রেস্টুরেন্ট আছে সেখানে হাল্কা কিছু খেয়ে নিতে পারেন। টাইগার নেস্টের টিকেট মুল্য ৫০০ নিউ। আপনি যদি মনেস্ট্রির ভিতরে প্রবেশ না করেন তবে টিকেট লাগবে না। তাই আগে থেকে টিকেট কাটার প্রয়োজন নেই। তবে ঐখানের লোকজন আপনাকে টিকেট কাটার জন্য বলবে।
টাইগার নেস্ট দেখা শেষ করে আমরা লাঞ্ছ করার জন্য হোটেল ড্রাগন নামক রেস্টুরেন্ট এ যাই। সেখানে বাঙ্গালী খাবার পাওয়া যায়। খাওয়া শেষ করে হোটেলে চলে আসি। বিকেলে বের হই পারো শহরটা ঘুরে দেখতে। সাথে কিছু শপিং করে নেই। সন্ধার পর পারো নদীর তীরে বসে আড্ডা দেই ।
এবার ফেরার পালা। পরদিন সকালে নাস্তা করে বের হই ফুন্টশোলিং এর উদ্দ্যেশ্যে। আসার পথে আমরা একটি ঝর্নায় গাড়ি থামাই। এই ঝর্নাটির নাম মনে নেই তবে অনেক সুন্দর এবং মেইন রোডের সাথেই। সেখানে কিছু সময় কাটিয়ে আমরা ফুন্টশোলিং চলে আসি এবং রাতে ফুন্টশলিং এই থাকি। তারপর জয়গাও থেকে যে যার মত শপিং করে নেই। পরদিন সকালে বাকি শপিং শেষ করে চ্যাংড়াবান্ধার উদ্দেশ্যে যাত্রা শুরু করে। আর এখানেই আমাদের ভুটান ভ্রমনের সমাপ্তি ঘটে। তারপর দুই দেশের ইমিগ্রেশন শেষ করে রাতের বাসে ঢাকা চলে আসি।

Bhutan is also known as Land of Thunder Dragon.
Here's is the first part of my Bhutan ride in which I crossed Jaigaon International border on my motorcycle to enter in to the happiest country Bhutan.
Bhutan, a Buddhist kingdom on the Himalayas’ eastern edge, is known for its monasteries, fortresses (or dzongs) and dramatic landscapes that range from subtropical plains to steep mountains and valleys. In the High Himalayas, peaks such as 7,326m Jomolhari are popular trekking destinations. Paro Taktsang monastery (also known as Tiger’s Nest) clings to cliffs above the forested Paro Valley.
Paro District is a district (dzongkhag), valley, river and town (population 20,000) in Bhutan. It is one of the most historic valleys in Bhutan.
Haa Valley - Adjoining the districts of Paro, Chhukha and Samtse, Haa valley is one of the most picturesque places in the Kingdom, spread over an area of 1706 sq. km.
Chele la (pass) at an elevation 13000 ft asl is considered to be one of the highest motorable passes in Bhutan. About an hour's drive from Paro as it passes through lush valleys, pine and rhododendron forest. The pass provides stunning views of the sacred mountain Jomolhari and Jichu Drake
