Parra park is a massive 58acres, you can do it by foot or just cycle around the park. It has several duck ponds, walking paths,2 kids playgrounds and a fitness circuit. There are plenty of space for a game of footy or just throw down a blanket for a picnic BBQ. The park is rich in the areas History with guided tours of the Old Government House or just have a wonder and check out the historical structures within the park. There is a cafe inside the park. Don't pay for the parking like what I mistakenly did, Just drive into the park and there are numerous Free 2 hour parking spots all over. Park opens from 6am to 6pm, gates close at 8pm daylight savings time so don't get your car locked in as there is a cost to get the gate reopened for you.

Highlights of Parramatta Australia Day held at Parramatta Park on Saturday 26 January.
This year Parramatta enjoyed over 15 hours of non-stop entertainment for the whole family from dawn until dusk. Featuring a hot-air balloon display, classic vehicles, kids activities, live entertainment, delicious food, amusement rides and more.
Not only that, we welcomed 1500 new Australians in the nation's largest-ever citizenship ceremony.

Parramatta is a major business and commercial centre, and home to Westfield Parramatta, the 10th largest shopping centre in Australia. It is also the major transport hub for Western Sydney, servicing trains and buses, as well as having a ferry wharf and future light rail and metro services.

Parramatta Park - Best Bike Rides in Sydney
Parramatta Park is an 85ha stunning parkland situated 24KM from the Sydney CBD. It is extremely popular with cyclists and the 3.1KM circuit with slight grade for about half of the ride makes for a pleasurable work out. Parramatta Park is also the perfect central location as it is well connected with many other cycleways in the heart of the Sydney metropolitan area. Other cycleway links include the Olympic park and Ryde via the river, Liverpool via the transit-way and the Rouse Hill Cycle path.
As well as being a great cycleway, Parramatta park also plays host to rock concerts, cultural events and last year became the new home for the short film festival Tropfest.
TIP: Parramatta Park can get packed out in the afternoon on a weekday and on weekends.

This video was taken last year during the shipping container restaurant tv flop. It shows parramatta before they started digging it up for the sky scrapers that its going to have. Parramatta should be a mess for another 8 or so years depending on light rail that is going to go in down the main road.

What a wonderful day Australia Day started in Parramatta Park. We took a hot air ballon ride with the boys.
Then we headed into the city to have a full day. We started with the Lego Awesome Exhibition.
There were so many displays
Then we went to the Maritime Museum and went aboard Wild Oats Super Yacht for a tour.
What a wonderful day in Sydney. So many places to see, so many things to do. We highly recommend joining the Maritime Museum. So much to see and do.
