Patterson Lake is located less than one mile from downtown Dickinson. In this location, in the summer there is a $2 daily entrance fee. There are two children's playgrounds, and concrete paths to walk, rollerblade, and bicycle on. Places to camp and cook out. Boat ramp, and beach for sitting, swimming, launching kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards.

Less than one mile from downtown Dickinson is the Patterson Lake Dam. At this particular spot, there is no fee to park or use the boat ramp. From this location you can fish, swim, walk your dog, ride your bicycle, jet ski, water ski, kayak or canoe.

It was a busy and productive week in North Dakota this week, beginning on Tuesday when I met with homeowners from Patterson Lake as well as officials from the Dickinson Parks & Recreation Department and the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) to review the timeline for transferring cabin lots and arranging their purchase by cabin owners. Wednesday, I was in Jamestown for a roundtable with Jamestown Reservoir homeowners as well as officials from Jamestown and Stutsman County to go over the transfer process for lots around the Jamestown Reservoir. In December, the President signed my bill to transfer Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) land around the reservoir to the Stutsman County Park Board and the North Dakota Game and Fish and allow homeowners the opportunity to purchase their lots. That afternoon, I hosted a roundtable in Oakes to go over the title transfer process for the Oakes Test Area. This transfer—which the 2019 Lands Package recently passed by the Senate would allow—holds the promise to greatly benefit local water users and land owners. You can read more here: bit.ly/2E5v1fX
I was in Fargo on Thursday, first at Waznek Construction’s annual meeting where I outlined our efforts to bolster energy and infrastructure development by creating a pro-growth business climate, supporting investment in the development of new energy technologies and ensuring strong support for federal infrastructure programs. Finally, North Dakota farm leaders joined me to discuss implementation of the 2018 Farm Bill. As chairman of the Agriculture Appropriations Committee, I also outlined important funding in the FY 2019 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration and Related Agencies Appropriations bill, to support agriculture research like that being conducted at the NDSU Agriculture Greenhouse.
