This was a very rare find as it's not advertised much and mainly only visited by those living close by like Wellington. I saw it on google & revolved a 5 day roadtrip in combination with other sites to mainly get to this NZ natural gem
Patuna farm adventures, is located on privately owned land just 15 minutes from Martinborough. There is a small charge for the local farmer to drive you here (on a open seated trailer, very cool!) You are giving a map guide with some good info, a H&S chat and a overall briefing then you're off! About half of the walk is through bush (with amazing views) and the rest is made up of the 'wave rock', ladders, 2 small waterfalls and the very unique and beautiful chasm.. You get 3.5hours to explore which is enough to really take your time and enjoy!

Patuna Farm Adventures - Chasmtastic
One of the most spectacular places I've ever been, and right here in my own back yard in New Zealand. This stunning chasm/river walk is in Martinborough, only a short drive from Wellington..
My GoPro didn't handle the extreme contrast in lighting very well, but still captured the amazing scenery and the WOW of the whole experience. A truely incredible place.

Day 285 - Patuna Farm Chasm Adventures, absolutely stunning! Words cannot describe that feeling of walking through such natural beauty.
The Patuna Chasm Adventure!
March 6th 2019: the Patuna Chasm in Wairapa Province, New Zealand. What an adventurous walk this is! Challenging, but within our limits. The walk takes you upstream through the bush and hillside, and then downstream through the Ruakukupatuna River, all the while surrounded by the spectacular limestone chasm and rock formations of the Patuna Chasm. Thank you to Allison and Alan at Patuna Farm Adventures for making it happen! sailingvilja.no
New Zealand's Hidden Adventure The Patuna Chasm
New Zealand is full of hidden adventures, and the Patuna Chasm in the Wairarapa is one to be discovered. Just a 90 minute drive from Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand, the chasm offers a real taste of classic kiwi back country, whilst some describe it like a movie set.
The pristine Ruakokoputuna river carves its way through the mossy green walls, leading to a stunning 30ft water fall. You'll climb down ropes and ladders, see eels, million year old seashell fossils, and can even drink the water running over the stony river bed.
