The potential in all of us(誰もがもつ潜在能力) | Camille ARMAS(カミル・アラムス) | TEDxAPU
This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. The story behind Bayanihan Haiyan Aid. To encourage APU students to use the incredible gift of being a global citizen to make an impact in this world through the story of the Bayanihan Haiyan Aid. An aid organized by the students of APU to help the people affected by the Typhoon Haiyan that struck the central region of the Philippines on 2013 November 8th.

During her last year of studies at APU, a tragic natural disaster stroked her country, the Philippines. In order to contribute in helping her country go through the tragic event and also the victims of the typhoon, she organized a fundraiser, Bayanihan Haiyan Aid on the university campus, and later on into the community of Oita city where the university is located in. In two months, the community-funded project was able to raise more than 1 million yen in funding.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Nanataki Waterfalls in Shinshiro 08-2012
Went there by car with Susumu and Yoshihiro, who drove us there. It was a dream come true for me as I have always wanted to go to a place like that. The drive there wasn't to bad (about an hour and a half?) but coming back we ran into really bad traffic and it took forever to get to Nagoya. That is what happens when you go anywhere during the Obon summer holidays.
When we arrived in Shinshiro, we were starving and we were hoping to eat some local food but ended up having the usual fair, which was pretty good: tempura, sashimi, grilled fish with peppers, egg roll, some boiled veggies, miso soup, macaroni salad, and dessert.
Most Japanese people just take pictures at a place like this, but not me. I had to get in the water and enjoy the cool water. When we were walking to the falls it started raining hard but soon it stopped and we were able to enjoy our visit. The fall has many levels with pools, and I took a dip at the 3 lowest levels. For the third level I had to do some tricky rock climbing which I don't recommend.
On the way back we listened to music and I taught Susumu Yoshihiro these old riddles: Why did the man throw a bucket of water out of the window? (He wanted to see the water fall); why did the man throw some butter out of the window? (He wanted to see the butter fly); why did the man throw his watch out of the window? (He wanted to see time fly). Always on teacher-mode!!
Thanks to Yoshi and Susumu for the pictures and video they shared with me.
The next day, I went on a two-day Nagano bus tour with Yoko. Later we went to Shiga for two days to visit Tomoko, and in Sept we went to Oahu for a week. The fun never stops!

日本国民はなぜ『衆議院の解散権は首相の専権事項である』という歴代自民党内閣による『憲法違反の大嘘』を信じ、首相による『衆議院解散・総選挙』を是認して総選挙で常に自民党を勝たせてきたのか?
