The Peak 2 Peak Gondola is a tri-cable gondola lift located in Whistler, British Columbia that links Whistler Mountain's Roundhouse Lodge with Blackcomb Mountain's Rendezvous Lodge. It is the first lift to join the two side-by-side mountains. It held the world record for the longest free span between ropeway towers—3.03 kilometres (1.88 miles) until 2017 when the Eibsee Cable Car exceeded it by 189m. It is still the highest point above the ground—436 metres (1,430 feet.

A few days ago I got the opportunity to experience the Whistler Peak 2 Peak 360 Sight Seeing Tour with some friends of mine. We where up in Whistler on a stag for three nights. By the way we also did some Ziplining which I shot some video of and will be making another separate video in a few days.
The Whistler Peak 2 Peak 360 Sight Seeing Experience was really amazing, Whistler had just received a light covering of snow (well at least up in the higher elevations) and it made for a really beautiful sight to see.
The Peak 2 Peak Gondola is the worlds longest and highest Gondola joining Whistler and Blackcomb Ski mountains. The Peak 2 Peak Gondola spans 4.4km (2.73 miles) taking 11 minutes to complete. At it's highest point you are 436 meters (1427 feet) from the ground.

In Whistler Blackcomb, einem der größten und bekanntesten Skigebiete Nordamerikas und Austragungsort der alpinen Bewerbe der Olympischen Spiele 2010, wurde am 12. Dezember 2008 die längste 3S-Bahn der Welt, die Peak 2 Peak Gondola eröffnet.
Die 3S-Bahn verbindet die beiden Skiberge Whistler Mountain und Blackcomb Mountain. Mit einer maximalen Geschwindigkeit von 7,5 m/s (= 27 km/h) überquert die Bahn das Fitzsimmons Valley in nur 11 Minuten. Durch diese komfortable Verbindung können nun beide Skigebiete auch leicht an einem Tag genossen werden, was bisher nur sehr schwer möglich war. Mit einer Gesamtlänge von 4.400 m, einem Weltrekordseilfeld von 3.024 m und einem maximalen Bodenabstand von 436 m bricht die Peak 2 Peak alle Rekorde dieses Seilbahntyps. Bis zu 2.050 Personen pro Stunde und Richtung werden mit 28 Kabinen transportiert. Jede Kabine ist für 28 Fahrgäste (24 sitzend, 4 stehend) ausgelegt und bietet dem Gast ein unvergleichliches Fahrerlebnis.

Questa Gondola (funivia) collega le due aree sciistiche delle due cime chiamate appunto Whistler e Blackcombe dalle quali prende il nome la rinomata località canadese.
La distanza tra le due cime è di 4400 metri circa, l'impianto conta 28 cabine con capienza singola di 28 persone, le cabine si susseguono ogni 49 secondi.
La linea è sostenuta solo da 4 torri, due sul Whistler mountain e due sul Blackcombe andando a creare così una sopsensione massima nella parte centrale del tragitto di 436 metri d'altezza, record mondiale.

Our second vlog of our time in Canada in June 2017. We take the Peak 2 Peak sky ride between mountains and also ascend Blackcomb Mountain! We also spot the odd bear or two!

The Peak 2 Peak Gondola, located in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada is the World Record longest unsuspended lift in the world. There are some other impressive facts surrounding this gondola, and the ride itself is incredible. Find it all in this episode of 2 minute travels!
Whistler BC can be found just over 2 hours North of Vancouver. In the winter, it's a famous ski resort, but even in the summer or fall (when this video was filmed) there is a lot to see and do. Whistler is a world class mountain biking destination, has over 50KM of hiking, and is home to about 60 black bears.

A whole day trip to Whistler, British Columbia. It was freaking -18'C and I was definitely freezing, but the view up there was more than worth it!! If you find yourself in Canada this coming winter, make sure to include Whistler on your list of places to go!

Lakeside & Decker Loops via Whistler Blackcomb PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola
Hiking Trails:
Blackcomb mountain is accessible via the breathtaking PEAK 2 PEAK gondola from Whistler mountain. We enjoyed beautiful alpine vistas by linking the Lakeside loop with the Decker Loop for a 3 hour hike. $58CAD each for lift tickets, so plan to spend as much of your day as possible up top, but don't miss the last gondola back!
Lakeside Loop
Length: 1.3km (.8 mi)
Elevation Change: 43m (141ft)
This short loop heads up to Blackcomb Lake, a great picnic spot. It is perfect for those with limited time who want a great view of the alpine wildflowers and vast scenery beyond. It continues past the lake to the Overlord Trail where you can head back toward the lodge or continue on Decker Loop.
Decker Loop
Length: 1.8km (1.1 mi)
Elevation Change: 134m (440ft)
Decker Loop is a challenging trail, but don’t let that dissuade you. The rewards for hiking this route will make themselves clear, especially once you make the steep but rewarding climb up the ridge just at the Garibaldi Provincial Park boundary. The trail descends through a boulder field that requires some scrambling to a second tiny lake with incredible views of the Overlord Glacier – as the furthest point on the trail this is an excellent spot to rest, snack and contemplate the majestic surroundings. Here the trail meets up with the Overlord Trail, leading you back through the subalpine landscape to the bottom of the ridge before heading back to the resort. This is the best trail to see alpine wildflowers when they are in bloom.
