Bakewell - Peak District Villages
and Presents the market town of Bakewell.
The picturesque and historic market town of Bakewell is the largest settlement in the Peak District National Park, and is well known to residents and visitors alike as the `Capital of the Derbyshire Dales. Indeed, Bakewells Aldern House is the headquarters and administrative centre of the Peak District National Park Authority, and the sympathetically restored seventeenth century Market Hall, with its miniature gables and twin-light mullioned windows is now home to the excellent Peak Park Information and Exhibition Centre.

Bakewell
Bakewell is a small market town in the Derbyshire Dales district of Derbyshire, England, deriving its name from 'Beadeca's Well'.[1] It is the only town included in the Peak District National Park, and is well known for the local confection Bakewell Pudding (often mistaken for the Bakewell Tart). It is located on the River Wye, about thirteen miles (21 km) southwest of Sheffield, 31 miles (50 km) southeast of Manchester, and 30 miles (48 km) north of the county town of Derby; nearby towns include Chesterfield to the east and Buxton to the west northwest. According to the 2001 Census the civil parish of Bakewell had a population of 3,979. The town is close to the tourist attractions of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall.

Places to see in ( Wirksworth - UK )
Places to see in ( Wirksworth - UK )
Wirksworth is a market town in the Derbyshire Dales district of Derbyshire, England . Wirksworth is listed in the Domesday Book of 1086. Within it is the source of the River Ecclesbourne. The town was granted a market charter by Edward I in 1306. The market is still held, every Tuesday in the market square. The parish church of St Mary's is believed to date from about AD 653.
Historically, Wirksworth developed as a centre for lead mining and later of stone quarrying. Many of the lead mines in the area were owned by the Gell family of nearby Hopton Hall, and their name is preserved in the Via Gellia, a main road to the north-west of the town, and in the Anthony Gell School.
The Wirksworth area may have been visited by Homo erectus as long as 150,000 years ago, during warm inter-glacial periods. An Acheulean handaxe from the Lower Paleolithic has been found at Hopton nearby. From other remains found in the county there would seem to have been human presence at least periodically until the Romans arrived. The Carboniferous limestone around Wirksworth has been extensively quarried through the town's history, resulting in several rock faces and cliffs in the hills that surround the town.
Districts of Wirksworth include Yokecliffe, Gorsey Bank, Bolehill, Mountford and Miller's Green. Bolehill, although technically a hamlet in its own right in Wirksworth's suburbs, is the oldest and most northern part of the town, while Yokecliffe is a fairly new estate in the western area of the town. Modern houses have recently been built in the Three Trees area and at the bottom of Steeple Grange, this housing estate is called Spring Close.
Within Wirksworth civil parish are 108 structures that are listed by Historic England for their historic or architectural interest. The Parish Church of St Mary is listed Grade I and eight structures (15 Market Place, 35 Green Hill, 1 Coldwell Street, Haarlem Mill, Wigwell Grange, the Red Lion Hotel, Gate House and the former grammar school) are Grade II*. Wirksworth Heritage Centre is just off Market Place in Crown Yard. The exhibition shows the history of Wirksworth from its prehistoric Dream Cave and woolly rhinos, through its Roman and lead mining histories, to the modern era. Other nearby attractions include the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, the Steeple Grange Light Railway and Peak District National Park. The study Wirksworth and Five Miles Around includes census information, notes on church monuments, accounts of crimes, church wardens' accounts, maps, a transcription of Ince's pedigrees, monument inscriptions and old photographs, parish registers and wills.
( Wirksworth - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Wirksworth . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Wirksworth - UK

A VERY WARM AFTERNOON VISITING ALL SAINTS CHURCH
The Abingdon Incident
Following widespread reporting of alarm and panic in the streets of Abingdon Saturday night - accounts of alien sightings reminiscent of the famous US ‘Area 51’ reports in the USA – one witness speaking of primate-like creatures, humanoid with identical shiny heads which had invaded the Brewery Tap pub, spawning rapidly inside and outside onto the street. A mass of photo and video evidence has appeared online, referenced to ‘John60’. It is against this background that the whole story is now told, the remarkable and true story of one man’s moment of destiny in the presence of family and friends.

Ode to Sheffield - The Peak District
Taken from the film 'A giant ode to Sheffield', this piece shows what the Peak District has to offer to its residents.
Phlegm is an international street artist with a distinctive style and adoring fan base.
In 2019 he brought to major new show back to his adopted home of Sheffield for 3 weeks only, unleashing a new immersive exhibition of sculptures named the 'Mausoleum of the Giants'.
This film explores the reactions to the show and the impact it had on an often underrated British city, whilst highlighting the other creatives who reside there.
The A6 in the wet towards Bakewell, Derbyshire
Here we are the A6 towards Bakewell in the rain and it was wet.... The rider only passed his test in March 2011 and was not very confident in these conditions. To his credit,he did very well, by looking ahead more, gear changing more and not thinking as much about the road conditions.
