Beijing Pearl Market (HongQiao) - How to get there
Despite the name, HongQiao Pearl Market has more to offer than only its three floors of pearls and jewellery. On the ground floor you will find lots of MP3-players, digital cameras, web cameras, memory cards, DVD-players and various other electronics articles. There is also a large selection of watches and also some silk products.
You can also find brand wear, traditional clothes, more silk products, shoes, suitcases and handbags. Many of the shops here offer exactly the same products, which means there are good chances to push the price down if you are good at haggling.
Open Daily 09:30 - 19:00
It is also right next to the Temple of Heaven, watch directions here:

Pearl Market in Beijing - Trip to China part 10 - Travel video HD
Pearls are a wonderful value in China so if you've got a few hours to spare, it's definitely worth hitting one of the pearl markets in China. There are large ones in Shanghai and Beijing, but just about every city will have a stall in the tourist markets.

Shop 'Til You Drop in Hong Qiao Pearl Market, Beijing.mov
Hong Qiao Pearl Market is one of my three favorite places to shop in Beijing. Don't let the Pearl in its name fool you. The first three levels in this five level building are filled with counterfeit, fake, knock-off goods.
Work your way up the escalators, floor by floor. If one vendor doesn't have what you are looking for, they practically tie you to another salesperson (they work in teams), shout, Stay here, while someones runs around to find the exact product or size. Whether it is stuck under piles of clothing or from another shop, they'll get it.

Today I am back in Beijing, China bargaining at the silk market for all the top brands! Brands such as Supreme, Dolce & Gabbana, Balenciaga, Jordan, Moncler and much more! So come along and let's kill it!

Okay. So, I'm going to buy seven of these.
Do not have to bargain. Please. You seem very hard to bargain.
He is a cheater?
Yes. I'm just a teacher.
Bargaining cheater. How much?
For seven.
Lose money!
You don't lose money! nothing.

We are not talking the same language.

I will share about this.
In the inside?
I want to get this one, its color looks smart.
Yeah.
I also need another one of this. Can you bring me another one?
Yes.
Awesome.
[crosstalk 00:05:12]
Do you?
Yes.
This is an excess. This is also an excess. It's amazing [inaudible 00:07:05]
Do you want to try?
No, because I want the same one of this.
Same one?
Yeah.
No.
No you don't have it?
No.
These are really pretty. Look, just like this [inaudible 00:07:58]
You guys, that was crazy. Can you believe that there are bags that are 21,000 dollars and they will sell them for less than 100 bucks? That's just unbelievable. So I have some final recommendations for you guys. The first one is to haggle. You have to be ready to negotiate with them. I wouldn't pay a hundred bucks, more than a hundred bucks for anything in the market, so you shouldn't glad either. So my second recommendation is to have a bunch of pictures of what you want and to be familiar with the quality and of course, ask them for the best quality. They will have several different qualities and they will try to sell you the lowest quality just because it's cheaper for them but no, you have to be ready, you need to have pictures, and you need to have a good judgment so you can get the best of the best.
The second recommendation is that these things take time so if you want to get the best price, it's not going to be like oh yeah I'm going to go there and I'm going to give them. These things take time. You have to play their game. The more time you invest, the better the price basically. So, my only recommendation is that some of them are not as nice or as polite as you want but if that is the case, just leave and go to the next store. I'm sure that somebody will treat you nicely and you will be able to have a better experience. So, just don't stay in one store.
My last and final recommendation is for you guys to dress very casual, dress very simple just because that will really help your negotiation. If you are wearing very fancy things, it's going to make it so much harder for you to bring them to a very low, low price so I will definitely recommend you to just keep it simple.
That's it for this video guys. Well, stay tuned because in the next video, we are going to the Great Wall. So stay tuned for that, bye.
