Aninuan Beach #1 Puerto Galera Philippines 2016
Aninuan is a coastal barangay of Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro. Aninuan Beach is situated just next to the popular White Beach, but it is much less crowded, making it suitable for a quiet and relaxing family reunions and romantic getaways. It is a long stretch of sand with a thin layer of small cobbles in the swash zone.
Material/type: Sand and shingle beach
Nearest airport: Manila (Ninoy Aquino International Airport). San Jose Airport in Occidental Mindoro is also an option.
How to get there : From Manila, ride a bus bound for Batangas Pier (P150-170, 2-3 hours). Board a ferry going to Puerto Galera (P250-P280, 60-75 minutes). When you reach Balatero Port, ride a tricycle or jeepney to Aninuan.
Don’t miss: Aninuan Falls, a short column accessible via a 45- to 60-minute hike.
If you have more time: See the Tamaraw Falls, a 423-foot cascade that plummets into a natural pool, perfect for a cool, refreshing dip.
Aninuan Beach in Puerto Galera - Philippines
Those who know Puerto Galera would be more than familiar with White Beach, but unfortunately would not know much about Aninuan Beach. However, those who have had the opportunity to visit Aninuan Beach would know that this location is 10 times better than White Beach.
Lets start with how to get there. Assuming weve already taken the 2 hour ferry ride, we can take a five minute tricycle ride from White Beach to Aninuan Beach. Once at Aninuan Beach, one can see that this is the exact opposite of White Beach since it offers less crowd and more privacy. During the peak season, White Beach is swamped with beach goers and its almost impossible to get a moment of peace and quiet. At Aninuan Beach, one is spared from the blasting music, people who walk in throngs blocking ones sun when trying to get a good tan and boats which are crowding the already crowded shoreline. Aside from the tricycle ride, one can also get to Aninuan Beach by walking along the shoreline of White Beach across the massive rock formations. Aninuan Beach lies just behind these rock formations. However, if one is planning to walk, one should make sure that this is done in broad daylight since it gets a bit tricky at night.
Although there is no nightlife as compared to White Beach, there are several places to grab something to eat at Aninuan Beach. Usually serving kebabs and eggplant salad, one can try the small restaurants that line Aninuan Beach or the hotels room service. When it comes to drinking though and partying all night, one can always go to White Beach for that.
When did we ever go to the beach and realize we forgot something crucial at home? Sounds familiar huh? The hotels and resorts at Aninuan Beach would have for us the necessities that we may have forgotten such as shampoo, toothbrush even that bathing suit or slippers. There are small sari-sari stores in Aninuan Beach that sell basic necessities in case of extreme urgency although we know that its always better to make sure we have our own even before we get there.
Aninuan Beach offers tranquility and the view of deck chairs under nipa huts by the shoreline while the waves lap gently in the background is sometimes all we need to truly enjoy that peaceful moment. The sunset is amazing at Aninuan Beach and if what one wants is rest and peaceful evenings, then this is definitely the place to be.

PUERTO GALERA TRIP VLOG#4 | LATE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
Puerto Galera is a town on the Philippine island of Mindoro. It’s known for its dive sites and beaches. The long curve of White Beach is backed by bars and resorts. Inland, a forest trail leads to secluded Talipanan Falls, and a hillside 9-hole golf course sits above the coast. Northeast, the waters off Sabang Beach teem with marine life and corals. Medio and Paniquian (Boquete) islands offer quieter beaches.
It is located at the north-westernmost part of Oriental Mindoro, and at the south-western end of the Isla Verde Passage, about 130 kilometers (81 mi) south of Manila. It is mainly accessible from the Southern Luzon gateway port of Batangas by bamboo boats (bangka) operated by local regular operators. Seaplane Operator Air Juan Aviation, Inc. flies 2x daily flights from Manila to Puerto Galera vv. on their Cessna Grand Caravan Seaplanes.
Puerto Galera is 51 kilometres (32 mi) from Calapan, the provincial capital.
The Puerto Galera Mangrove Conservation and Ecoutourism Area is a bonus we found along the way. We just saw its sign so I asked him to stop. We paid for the entrance fee of Php 30 and proceeded. There's a small store in front where you can buy souvenirs and pay for the ticket fee. After that, you can now start walking along the bamboo path built over mangroves. There's no time restriction, you can stay there until the afternoon. The first thing I asked the one accepting the fee is that if they have official brochures or even a simple pamphlet. She said NONE. Imagine, they're charging for Php 30 admission fee but it doesn't even include a simple guide printed on the cheapest paper possible in black and white ink to enlighten the guests what is this place all about!
The Puerto Galera Mangrove Conservation and Ecotourism area occupies 17.8 hectares of land and water. Established in 2015, this is home to 13 mangrove species dominated by Rhizophora, 6 seagrass species dominated by Thalassia hempricii and live coral reef cover with a variety of soft corals species found at the deeper portion of the reef. Colorful birds, abundant invertebrates and fish fingerlings including a mudskipper (amphibious fish) also call this place home. The Mangrove Ecotourism Site of Puerto Galera is supported by DENR BMB SMARTSEAS Project.
This protected site is maintained by the LGU Puerto Galera, supported by the Canadian Embassy in the Philippines, MFI and locals of barangays Tabinay and Dulangan where the mangrove area geographically belongs.
For us who have a motorcycle, we were so happy knowing that there's a small space at the left side for free parking. I think a couple of tricycles and one car can fit there. I suggest visiting this mangrove site during sunny days. You don't want to walk on a slippery path right?
Pebble Beach a.k.a. Aplayang Munti or Virgin Island is a tranquil pearl of Puerto Galera which has a stunning coastal rock formation and a scenic view of the sea. Visitors can enjoy relaxing or meditating in its serene environment that is rich with nature’s goodness. Swim wild and free in the calm waters of this virtually empty beach.
Just like the Virgin Island in Panglao, its name may have been derived from its crowd-free environment or perhaps because of the Virgin Mary grotto that was constructed on top of it. This place definitely lives up to the name because of its tranquility and picturesque beauty.
