Video Driving Lesson 3 Moving Off & Stopping www.2pass.co.uk
To accelerate and move away efficently you should start gently pressing the gas pedal (accelerator) and then slowly raise the clutch. Continue accelerating gently as you let the clutch up.
If the car jerks, you need to let the clutch up more slowly or press the gas pedal a little more. If the engine roars, use less pressure on the gas or let the clutch up a little further.

Volkswagen Amarok 2020 - interior Exterior Details
Thank You CarsellMotorCars
Volkswagen Amarok review
The Volkswagen Amarok is the company's first purpose-built pick-up and is a direct competitor for the Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara NP300 and Ford Ranger, and provides an additional yardstick for the newcomers to the pick-up segment to measure up to - namely the Fiat Fullback and the impending Mercedes-Benz X-Class.
To keep up with its recently revamped rivals, Volkswagen has given the Amarok a light facelift for 2017. In doing so has removed the 2.0-litre oilburners and is available with a choice of two turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 diesel units, tuned for 201bhp and 368lb ft or 221bhp and 405lb ft.
The Amarok did have the smallest engine in its class, but now its engine is the second largest behind the five-cylinder, 3.2-litre brute found in the Ranger. The model we tested had plenty of torque across the rev range, with 405lb ft available from 1400rpm. This does make the Amarok more muscular something the original 2.0-litre unit could produce. Whereas previously overtaking manoeuvres required plenty of pre-planning, the V6 diesel combats that with a healthy dose of torque available early on and low down.
Sharing its platform and many technologies with the next-gen Ford Ranger, the Amarok could get range-topping V6 diesel and gasoline engines, depending on the market. The current Amarok V6 TDI has 255 horsepower and 428 pound-feet (580 Newton-meters) of torque and tuners like ABT can boost the output to 302 hp (225 kW) and 465 lb-ft (630 Nm). CarSales reports the new Ranger could get a 2.7-liter twin-turbo gasoline and a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engines that might also find an application under the hood of the Amarok.
It will be interesting to see whether the new Ranger, which should be almost identical to the new Amarok in many aspects, will also rely only on fossil fuels. In Europe, the pickup segment is still dominated by diesel-powered models, while in the United States gas-fed trucks are in the lead.
On the road, the Amarok is demonstrates excellent driving manners, with solid, predictable car-like handling. Where Volkswagen's achievement is much more impressive is the on-road refinement. The Amarok does not ride over broken surfaces with the sophistication of the Freelander, but the ride is exceptionally good for a vehicle with a payload of 1110kg. The steering is well weighted, though devoid of much feel, but provides enough feedback on what's going on beneath the tyres to allow fluent, quick progress.
The combination of a solid, leaf-spring rear axle, a low-range gearbox, mechanical locks on the centre and rear diffs and traction control means that most extreme off-road situations require little more than pressing the accelerator and adjusting the wheel so that it goes in the correct direction.
Volkswagen's designers have managed to apply the marque's trademark front end to the big pick-up, which is impressive given how different the Amarok in size, shape and purpose from its passenger car cousins.
The interior moves the class to the next level. Despite the low spec levels compared to Volkwagen's road cars, the build quality is exceptionally good, with tough but well-textured surfaces and an excellent driving position. Car drivers would notice the unusual height of the seats and driving position, but otherwise everything falls under the fingers in exactly the way that it would in, say, a Golf.
As for standard equipment, the Amarok has three to choose from - Trendline, Highline and the first edition Aventura models. The entry-level model equips the Amarok with electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, front foglights, manually adjustable front seats, air conditioning, electric windows, and automatic post collision braking system, alongside Volkswagen's Composition infotainment system, complete with 6.3in touchscreen display, DAB radio, smartphone integration and USB connectivity.
Upgrade to Highline and you'll find luxuries such as parking sensors, a reversing camera, bi-xenon headlights, 18in alloy wheels, leather upholstery and heated front seats as standard, while the limited edition Aventura models get an unique metallic blue paint job, 19in alloy wheels and sat nav.
If the proof of the pudding is in the eating, then the proof of a pick-up is in driving it for 100,000 miles over bumpy roads. Given Volkswagen's reputation for build quality and reliability it's safe to say that Toyota, Nissan, Ford and Mitsubishi should be concerned, as should be the future incumbents to this sector.

Joe's All-Analog Pedalboard Demo
Welcome to Perky’s Analog Gear Demos! Please subscribe :-)
I’ve recently finished building up my new studio pedalboard and thought I’d share the results with you. It’s super-inspiring to use and I love it!
Aside from the TU-2 (which is set up within my Loopmaster as a send with no return - so the signal never passes through it) the board is 100% analog. That’s just how I like to do things. The basic signal flow is: Effectrode PC-2A Compressor, Loopmaster, Jan Ray, Carl Martin Headroom and Suhr Buffer.
The Effectrode PC-2A is always on - adding only a small bit of compression (to simulate the tube compression of an amp - so I can play quieter and still feel some squashiness!). It also buffers the whole board, warms up the tone, and acts as a slight boost. Everything is better with this pedal on!
The Jan Ray is on all the time too with the gain at zero, volume at unity & the tone controls (which are essentially High & Low pass filters, not active EQs) turned off. The flavour of the pedal alone adds a thickness to the low end which I love, but also lets me dial in an ‘edge of break-up’ sound at any volume without cranking the amp.
Side A of the Carl Martin Headroom is always active - with just a tickle of genuine spring reverb to make the sound a little more 3D (a bit like a drop shadow in Photoshop!) It’s footswitchable to side B which I have set to be much more of an obvious reverb effect.
The Suhr Buffer brings down any impedance that might have crept in throughout the board to keep everything super-defined going off to the amplifier - and also gives me an isolated second output to run a second amplifier in dual-mono.
And then, within the Loopmaster:
1) JAM Pedals Ripple Phaser
2) A/DA Flanger PBF Reissue
3) JAM Pedals Tubedreamer 58 + Wampler Tumnus + Bigfoot Octo Puss
4) Analog Man King Of Tone
5) Supro Drive + Wampler Tweed ’57
6) Wampler Plexi Drive
7) JAM Pedals Waterfall Chorus
8) Xotic EP Booster + EHX Memory Man Deluxe
9) JAM Pedals Delay Llama
10) Hamstead Signature Tremolo
My amplifier is a Hughes & Kuttner Puretone combo - Class A, single channel, hand wired point-to-point. The thing I like most is that you can completely dial out the EQ tone stack (which I do all the time), so it really is just Input, tubes, speaker. Nothing in between - as simple as an amp could possibly be. Having no EQ means that it takes pedals incredibly well - I’ve never found a pedal it doesn’t like. I’ve tried loads of amplifier and still only want to use this one for recording & gigging…it’s my ultimate amp!
For this demo, I’m also teaming it with an Ashdown Fallen Angel 180 – the front end of this amp isn’t really to my tastes so I’m plugging directly into the FX loop return to completely bypass the front end. It’s very scooped in the mids & bass-heavy, so it pairs very well with the mid-heavy Hughes & Kettner. It’s only adding a slight bit of 4x12 thump to the sound and is only blended in slightly – but it does give a more complete sound.
Do you have any thoughts or suggestions? Please comment below! :-)

PedalPower Kids - Power to Explore Freedom by Bike
Most of us can remember the first time we rode a bike, many of us can remember it vividly. It’s one of those significant milestones of early childhood that often becomes family lore as well- i.e., “that time Dad pushed Jane down the hill.”
Whether or not you can remember the details of learning to ride your bike, you can probably still remember how you felt–like you could conquer the world! At the very least, you could get around the world yourself, using your own two legs. If not the world, well, the neighborhood pool and your best friend’s house. You could choose your own adventure and make it happen! It is my sincere desire that EVERY kid get to experience the power of the bicycle- independence, freedom, adventure, self-sufficiency, and fun.
PEARL iZUMi Crew member Rachel Varn launched PedalPower Kids when she realized so many kids were not learning to ride and were not experiencing the power of life on a bike as part of their childhoods. The reasons are numerous and complex and impact children of all socioeconomic levels, in cities, suburbs, and rural areas across the US. It’s infrastructure, and technology, and overscheduling, and academic pressures, and safety/crime concerns–so many reasons to list. Yet in other parts of the world, where digital distractions also exist, riding bikes is still a daily part of life for kids, like in the Netherlands, where Rachel's family was lucky enough to take a cycling trip this past summer. She might not be able to turn Annapolis, Maryland into Amsterdam overnight, but she's doing everything she can to make childhood around the area a little more Dutch. Less than two years in, she sees fuller bike racks at schools, neighborhood bike gangs, and families out and about on our local trails. Go Rachel.
Clutch Control In Traffic Uphill - Learning To Drive A Manual / Stick Shift Car
Clutch control on a hill in traffic -
How to do clutch control? It's a common question If you're learning to drive a manual / stick shift car. One challenge to overcome will be to master clutch control in traffic uphill. It's quite common for a new driver on their driving lessons to worry about rolling back into a vehicle behind or stalling.
In this video we look at how to do hill starts and use clutch control to creep slowly in stop, start traffic. You'll probably cover this on one of your driving lessons but hopefully this video will help you visualise what to do and help you remember what to do.

There is one golden rule to remember when fixie riding! Keep your legs moving! If you’re riding along and just ‘stop’ pedalling, the force and momentum in your wheels, cranks and legs will be enough to throw you up over the bars and onto the ground.
Get comfy on the bike. To start with we would recommend a saddle height around 0.5cm lower than you would normally run on your road bike. This will help with moving around on the saddle whilst you apply braking force backwards through the pedals, but it will also make it easier to move your body weight around for cornering and general technical maneuvers.

Michael Cohen Testimony live before the House Oversight Committee
President Trump's former personal attorney and fixer Michael Cohen had harsh words for his former employer during public testimony before a House congressional panel Wednesday. He is a racist. He is a con man. He is a cheat, Cohen, testifying before the House Oversight Committee, said in his opening statement about Mr. Trump.
Cohen's testimony comes as Washington prepares for a final report from special counsel Robert Mueller's nearly two-year investigation into Russian interference in U.S. elections and possible coordination between Trump campaign associates and the Russian government.
The irony of Cohen's testimony two months before he reports to federal prison for lying to Congress was not lost on lawmakers. I've made it abundantly clear to Mr. Cohen if he comes here today, and he does not tell the truth, I will be the first to refer those untruthful statements to the DOJ, Chairman Elijah Cummings, a Maryland Democrat, said when opening the hearing.

Cycling The World - Day 390 - The Real Cambodia
See more from my attempt at cycling the world including photos and blog posts over at
Welcome to my daily video diary documenting my attempt to cycle solo and unsupported around the world through more than 35 countries, five continents and 50,000km over the next three years.
So far I’ve cycled a little more than 15,000km through 21 countries over the past 13 months to be were I am now, Cambodia, in south east Asia.
In this daily diary episode I find what I’ve been looking for since I arrived in the country a little over a week ago - the real Cambodia
With the last of the highways behind me, for now, I finally hit the quiet dirt roads that run through Cambodia’s countryside. Scattered with picturesque villages full of friendly locals it’s a stark change from the highways and big cities.
Tonight I’m spoiled for choice when it comes to wild camp spots and I pitch my tent nestled between two villages and fall asleep to the sounds of Buddhist prayers.

EMMA Audiobook by Jane Austen | Full Audio book with Subtitles | Part 1 of 2
Jane Austen famously described Emma Woodhouse, the title character of her 1815 novel, as a heroine whom no-one but myself will much like. Yet generations of readers have loved Emma, as much for her blunders as for her wit and vivacity. Emma, handsome, clever, and rich, has nothing else to do but try to pair off her friends, and she consistently mis-reads the relationships and situations around her as much as she mis-reads her own heart. The novel features a wonderful cast of characters, including Emma's hypochondriac father, the odiously prideful Mrs. Elton, the mysterious and reserved Jane Fairfax, and Miss Bates, who never stops talking. (Summary by Elizabeth Klett).
