Mineral Springs Park-Pekin, Illinois Visit!
The city of Pekin /ˈpiːkᵻn/ is the county seat of Tazewell County in the U.S. state of Illinois. Located on the Illinois River, Pekin is the largest city of Tazewell County and part of the Peoria metropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, its population is 34,094. A small portion of the city limits extend into Peoria County. Pekin is the 13th-most populous city in Illinois outside of the Chicago Metropolitan Area.
Pekin's Mineral Springs Park is located near Pekin Hospital and the Miller Senior Center. The city is also home to a high-rise residential facility of the United Auto Workers; the 1,538 megawatt, coal-fired Powerton Power Station (currently owned and operated by NRG Energy), the home of the Pekin Federal Correctional Institution; and the headquarters of a regional insurance company, Pekin Mineral Springs Park and Lagoon

Mineral Springs Park Special FacilitiesThe Lagoon is well known for its serene walking conditions. One lap around the Lagoon is approximately one-half mile. Its walks are handicapped accessible. The Lagoon is stocked with fish annually. Because of the 12 foot depth of the water, horseplay around the water is prohibited. Skating is allowed on the Lagoon in the winter. Signs will be posted around the Lagoon when ice is safe.

So many people in IL are dependent upon their careers and income from Cat, despite any manufacturing being done out of state or overseas.
Also, so many anglers like myself need a warm water discharge effluent in winter time to target big fish, in areas where the main forage of the apex predators (Blue Catfish & Striped Bass) is Asian carp & Bighead carp.

This game was against Pekin, a powerhouse school known for a winning football tradition. I believe they won a state championship in football when I was in high school. All the players trained with weights and had tremendous work ethic. When we were Juniors I think it's accurate to say that they roughed us up a little bit on the basketball court. This was a fun game though. We beat them pretty bad on their home court.
