Took a trip to Mexico and trekked this monolith. Only made it half way of the total distance. Went to town after and had some tacos and beers. It was worth the trip from main City of Queretaro.
Peña de Bernal - Pueblo Mágico
San Sebastián Bernal es el nombre completo del pueblo que alberga al tercer monolito más grande del mundo.
Acompáñanos a conocer este maravilloso pueblo mágico lleno de color y belleza.
Fundado en 1642 por varias familias españolas que tomaron posesión de esas tierras, cuenta con bellas edificaciones que datan del siglo XVIII y XIX . Un lugar que no te puedes perder.

- Templo de San Sebastián Mártir
- Capilla de la Santa Cruz

Como llegar:
De la ciudad de México, debes tomar la autopista 57, México – Querétaro, antes de San Juan del Río, debes tomar la carretera 120 hacia Tequisquiapan, pasando Tequisquiapan, llegas a Ezequiel Montes, tomar la carretera 4 Federal en dirección a Bernal. El trayecto es de 3 horas y media aproximadamente.

BERNAL, QUERÉTARO - Hola amigos and welcome back to Mexico! Today we are leaving Querétaro for the day heading east to the small Pueblo Magico (Magic Town) of Bernal, well known for it's colourful, colonial architecture and Peña de Bernal (Rock of Bernal) which not only is one of the 13 Wonders of Mexico but also the TALLEST monolith in the world!
It's also Cinco de Mayo (May 5th), which, although more celebrated in the US, still sees some activity in terms of parades and celebrations.
So get ready to check out Bernal, climb the monolith, learn about the state of Querétaro and sample some food native to the area! Bernal has to be one of my favourite places in Mexico, a MUST if you a planning a Mexico vacation in 2019!

人々は特に春分の日（3月21日）、ペニャ・デ・ベルナルでエネルギーがもらえると何万人もの人がやって来る。この日メキシコではエネルギーをもらうために多くの人がティオティワカンなどの遺跡に行くが、ここは遺跡ではなく、自然が作った一枚岩の山である。大きな大きな一枚岩であるので、地球のまた宇宙のエネルギーを集めると信じられている。
このような一枚岩の山としては、世界で第三位の大きさらしい。２８８メートルの高さがあり、頂上の標高は２５１５メートルだという。

Bernal, Querétaro Mexico Adventure // Pueblo Mágico
Bernal is one of the many pueblo mágico aka magical town in Mexico. The title is given to towns with - magic symbolic attributes, legends, history, transcendental facts, that associate in each of his cultural manifestations, and that today mean a great opportunity for tourism -(thanks wiki) The main attraction in Bernal is the Peña de Bernal - the 3rd tallest monolith in the world (counting from base of mountain) and world's TALLEST (counting from sea level). At least that is what the lovely gentleman at the cheese shop told us.
So I hope you enjoy this travel vlog from Querétaro to San Sebastián Bernal. Would you be up to hike the mountain??
One last fun fact: on March 21 (first day of spring), locals flock to Bernal and many hike the mountain to recharge their energy and get ready for the new season.

¿Qué hacer en Peña de Bernal, Querétaro? / Pueblo Mágico - Un día viajando
Bernal es un Pueblo Mágico ubicado en Querétaro. Uno de sus lugares representativos es la PEÑA DE BERNAL, un lugar increíble. Es una excelente opción tanto cultural como gastronómica.
Tienen que ir a visitar Bernal y probar sus esquites, el pan de queso y hacer un recorrido por la ruta del vino y queso.
Bernal está a 3 horas desde la CDMX, te recomendamos llevar zapatos cómodos porque sus calles son empedradas, por las mañanas hace frío pero por las tardes calor, así que lleva una chamarra ligera.
La Peña de Bernal es el tercer monolito más grande del mundo,1 está localizado en el pueblo de Bernal que pertenece al municipio de Ezequiel Montes en el estado de Querétaro, México. Según estudios realizados, la peña se formó a partir de un volcán que agotó su actividad, posteriormente la lava del interior se volvió sólida y la erosión que sufrió a través de lo años hizo desaparecer los restos del volcán. El magma sólido que quedó es lo que constituye y da forma al monolito.
Te recomendamos llevar zapatos cómodos ya que para subir a la peña el camino es empedrado.
