Penang Hill Trail Running, Penang Island, Malaysia
Penang Hill on Penang Island, Malaysia has an awesome running / hiking trail that I review for you here. It is a 6.4 kilometer (3.9 mile) trail through the Malaysia forest that ends at the peak (Bukit Bendera), also known as Penang Hill.
This is a challenging hike that will take you at least two hours to complete. If you are a runner, or in good shape, you might do it in an hour. It took me 65 minutes at the fastest, and I run hills a lot in Thailand.
Bring water! There is water at the 4.5 km point where the trail crosses the paved road. The spigot there has fresh spring water that people drink. The climb is hot and exhausting.
At the top of the mountain, at the peak, is a lot going on. You could take the Air Tram down the hill, pay a Jeep $21 USD (70 RM), or run back down the trail or the paved road.
This trail run up Penang Hill was the most fun I've had in the forest on trails - ever. It combines a little bit of everything. For the full article about my trail running experience here, see:

Penang Drone Flight: Penang is a Malaysian state located on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia, by the Malacca Strait. It has two parts: Penang Island, where the capital city, George Town, is located, and Seberang Perai (formerly Province Wellesley) on the Malay Peninsula. The second smallest Malaysian state by land mass, Penang is bordered by Kedah to the north and the east, and Perak to the south. Currently, Penang is home to Southeast Asias Longest bridge connecting the island to mainland. Penangs population stood at nearly 1.767 million as of 2018, while its population density rose to 1,684/km2 (4,360/sq mi). It has among the nations highest population densities and is one of the countrys most urbanised states. George Town, Malaysias second largest city, is also home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site. // Penang is a state in northwest Malaysia comprising mainland Seberang Perai and Penang Island. On the island, the state capital of George Town is home to landmarks such as colonial Fort Cornwallis, the ornate Chinese clan house Khoo Kongsi and the Kapitan Keling Mosque, all testaments to centuries of foreign influence. To the west, a funicular ascends Penang Hill, with its trails, flower gardens and panoramic views. The hillside Buddhist Kek Lok Si Temple is known for its 7-tiered pagoda. In the islands south, the Snake Temple houses pit vipers. In the north is Batu Ferringhi, the islands main beach resort, with a nightly market. On the islands northwest tip, Penang National Park shelters the nests of endangered sea turtles. On the mainland, Penang Bird Park has hundreds of bird species, plus crocodiles and tiny mouse-deer. Nearby, Arulmigu Karumariamman Temple features a large tower and sculptures of Hindu deities. Overlooking the sea in the town of Butterworth, Tow Boo Kong, or the 9 Emperor Gods Temple, has ornate shrine halls. [wikipedia // Google]

EXPLORING AMAZING PENANG (GEORGETOWN), WALK AROUND PENANG MALAYSIA, STREET FOOD PENANG
Exploring Amazing Penang/ Georgetown/, Walk Around Penang
Penang is a state in Malaysia located on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia, by the Strait of Malacca.
Penang state is bordered by Kedah in the north and east, and Perak in the south. It is composed of two parts — Penang Island, where the seat of government is, and Seberang Perai (formerly Province Wellesley in English) on the Malay Peninsula.
Highly urbanised and industrialised, Penang is one of the most developed and economically important states in the country, as well as a thriving tourist destination. Penang has the third-highest Human Development Index in Malaysia, after the state of Selangor and the federal territory of Kuala Lumpur. Its heterogeneous population is highly diverse in ethnicity, culture, language and religion. A resident of Penang is colloquially known as Orang Pulau Pinang (in Malay), Penangite (in English),Penang lang (in the local Penang Hokkien dialect) or a Penangkaran (In Tamil)The name of Penang comes from the modern Malay name Pulau Pinang, which means island of the areca nut palm (Areca catechu, family Palmae).[7] The name Penang may refer either to the island of Penang (Pulau Pinang) or the state of Penang (Negeri Pulau Pinang). In Malay, Penang's capital George Town was called and labelled in old maps as Tanjung Penaga (Cape Penaigre),[] named after the many ballnut trees (also known as Alexandrian laurels, Calophyllum inophyllum) on the coast, but now usually shortened as Tanjung (the Cape)
Penang is also known as The Pearl of the Orient,[why?] 东方之珠 ,and Pulau Pinang Pulau Mutiara (Penang, Island of Pearls). Penang is shortened as PG or PP in Malay.
Early Malays called it Pulau Ka-Satu or First (or Single) Island because it was the largest island encountered on the trading sea-route between Lingga and Kedah. The Siamese, then the overlord of the Kedah Sultanate, referred to the island as Koh Maak. (Thai: เกาะหมาก Areca nut palm Islandn the 15th century, the island of Penang was referred to as Bīnláng Yù (simplified Chinese: 槟榔屿; traditional Chinese: 檳榔嶼) in the navigational drawings used by Admiral Zheng He of Ming-dynasty China in his expeditions to the South Seas. The 16th-century Portuguese historian Emanuel Godinho de Eredia's map of the Malay Peninsula in his Description of Malaca in 1613 referred to the island as Pulo Pinaom.Like the rest of Malaysia, Penang has a tropical climate, specifically a tropical rainforest climate bordering on a tropical monsoon climate, though Penang does experience slightly drier conditions from December to February of the following year. The climate is very much dictated by the surrounding sea and the wind system. Penang's proximity with Sumatra, Indonesia makes it susceptible to dust particles carried by wind from perennial but transient forest fires, creating a phenomenon known as the haze.
The Bayan Lepas Regional Meteorological Office is the primary weather forecast facility for northern Peninsular Malaysi.
Tourism -Visited by Somerset Maugham, Rudyard Kipling, Noël Coward and Queen Elizabeth II among many others, Penang has always been a popular tourist destination, both domestically and internationally. In 2009, Penang attracted 5.96 million tourists, ranking third in tourist arrivals in Malaysia. Penang is known for its rich heritage, multicultural society and its vibrant culture, its hills, parks, and beaches, shopping, and good food. There are a variety of accommodation options from guest houses and budget hotels to four- and five-star hotels. For staying at a room for one night, guests are required to pay a bed tax around RM2 to RM3. Pulau Pinang.

--~--
Hello travel enthusiasts, I am in Penang and in this video I will take you to the oldest Chinese settlement in Penang, called Jetties. If you are interested in exploring the heritage trail of Penang then this is a must visit place. Billed as one of the last bastions of old Chinese settlements on the island, this waterfront society is home to houses on stilts of various Chinese clans. Located straight down from Lebuh Chulia (beside the Kapitan Kling Mosque) at Pengkalan Weld (Weld Quay), these water villages are over a century old. Each jetty is named after a Chinese clan – the Chew Jetty is the most tourist-friendly with the most stilt-houses, the longest walkway, a temple that is worth stopping by and plenty of places for those Kodak moments.
