Facilities at Pendine Sands Holiday Park
At Pendine Sands Holiday Park it’s not just the coastline and countryside, you’ll enjoy, there’s some great facilities on park too.
Once you’ve finished playing on beach and ventured back onto the park, the kids can tire themselves out even more on the two adventure play areas.
In Wales you have to experience it’s culture and local wildlife, you can do this by visiting the nature trails of just feeding some ducks at the duck pond.
Inside there are some great activities to like an amusement arcade, hosting games old and new, and don’t forget the heated pool where you can make a big splash.
For eating options, you have it all from the Sands Restaurant & Showbar which caters for everyone’s needs and is prepared by the Pendine Sands chefs. If you want something different make sure you check out the American style Sunbeam Diner, which serves everything from milkshakes to mac and cheese.

Most ambitious Straightliners Pendine event we have ever run, entries are nearly full so don't delay! 18 & 19 May
The first Straightliners Pendine Sands land speed of 2019 will be the most a ambitious and we believe the best event we have ever run at this location. It takes pace on the 18th & 19th May. We are going to do things a bit differently this time with a full three mile course and in true record breaking fashion we will be running both ways with a host of new records to be set and broken. These include:
1. Flying start mile
2. Flying start 1/4 mile
3. Flying start kilometre
4. Ultimate sand speed record over the two mile course,
So there will be a host of records up for grabs,

nfortunately starting off from Pembroke this morning we headed west, I know we're supposed to be going east, as the British coastline doesn't follow nice conventions like straight lines! So westward we went to Freshwater West, straight into the teeth of a full on headwind. As any cyclist knows, there are few things worse than a headwind, and this was a strong one.
Fortunately the spectacular waves made the struggle of the ride there worthwhile, as did turning through 180 degrees and enjoying the tailwind on the way to Freshwater East!
This warmed us up nicely, as did morning tea at Freshwater East, and if we and the riders from Fairlady (who bake bread, among other products for Waitrose) who joined us for the day, weren't warm enough, the grind up the hill from Freshwater certainly brought a sweat about.
On around the South Wales coast and we passed Manorbier Castle and on into Tenby, for a quick tour of the town, which was busy with holidaymakers. Leaving the attractive setting of Tenby we rode along a nice little path between Saundersfoot and Amroth, through tunnels and hugging the shoreline, before venturing onto the beach at Amroth where we took a late lunch, before a leisurely ride into Pendine. The early arrival was very welcome, as it meant we could enjoy the view out over the beach (or venture down onto the sands and into the water as some members of our group did), and also relax ahead of a very early start and a long ride...but more on that next time!
