Penetanguishene Centennial Museum & Archives
The museum housed in the C. Beck General store and Lumber Office (c. 1875), preserves the history of the area with Victoriana, farm implements and the first car in Simcoe county -- a 1901 Oldsmobile. Haunted Huronia @ Penetang Museum FULL EPISODE
Please visit to learn more about the show and to contribute to our Indiegogo Campaign.
Our first haunted location is the Penetanguishene Centennial Museum and Archives in Penetanguishene, Ontario. Built in 1875 by Karl Maxillian (Charles) Beck the former C. Beck Lumber office and General Store became the Town’s Museum in 1967 in celebration of the Country’s 100th birthday. Condemned to close in 1991, an extensive fundraising campaign by the Friends of the Museum saved it. Many visitors claim to have had paranormal experiences within the museum walls, including unexplained footsteps, eerie feelings, out of place objects, and orb sightings!

CIPHI Centennial Museum - Virtual Tour - Winnipeg National Conference (2013)
At the popular request of CIPHI members who couldn't make it to the national centennial conference in June, the Manitoba Branch of the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI) prepared this commemorative video for posting on YouTube.
Please note that all of the environmental health 'Themed Hardboards' depicted in the video can be viewed and downloaded from the ciphi100.ca website. They are all in high resolution PDF format and places like Staples will colour-print and mount them on hardboards for roughly $6-$8 each, if so desired. They really jazz up a PHI office, too.
Stay tuned because CIPHI Ontario and the National office are looking at possibly making this a 'travelling roadshow' exhibit that could make it to a venue near you! In the meantime, enjoy the virtual tour!
[ p.s. members have also posted their own independent videos. make sure to check those out too because they might offer additional footage or zooms on items not specifically covered in our video. ]

This vignette deals with the Aftermath and features stories on: the founding of Discovery Harbour; how the little town of Penetanguishene became a bilingual oasis in Ontario; the fate of the Insect Fleet and War Ships of the Upper Great Lakes; and the School of the Sailor.
