Micro Pubs In A Store Near You
There's a growing trend to have Micro-Pubs open on the High Street. They are less expensive to run and help solve the problem of filling vacant shops. They are being described as the future and could save the declining pub industry. Since 1980 the number of pubs has slumped from 69,000 to fewer than 50,000 today. Landlords are taking advantage of the cheaper space and are converting closed down shops into a thriving local pub. One of them is The Penny Farthing, in Crayford Kent where the local brew is a speciality and there's no actual bar. There's also no music, TV or fruit machines. ynuk.tv went to the pint sized pub to check out the scene and catch up with the landlords Bob and Bev Baldwin.

Olde English Fayre (Bexley Round Table no. 191) (1955)
Heaps of fun had by all at this 1955 village fair organised by Bexley Round Table. Inspired by Victorian fashions and entertainment, there’s a strong man, some japes with a steam engine, penny farthings, wrestling, old-fashioned cricket and lots of beards and bonnets.
