A foggy drive across a cool bridge in Maine
Rain and fog can't spoil a day off travelling the coast of Maine. The Penobscot Bay Narrows Bridge in Prospect is always scenic, no matter what the weather is. This is only 7 seconds, but worth a watch.

THIS FREAKS ME OUT! ???? Fort Knox, Maine ⛰Full Time RV Living While exploring Maine we wanted to check out Fort Knox. Since Josh is from the area we got to meet up with some of his friends and their family. Lucky for us this was pirates weekend so the fort had a lot of activity. We also got to check out a look out tower on the nearby bridge called Penobscot Narrows Observatory. If you are afraid of heights I would skip this attraction.
I will say place like this really freak me out. I have a hard time with tight enclosed spaces and forts are sometimes tough for me to walk around. But as long as I know there is an exit I do ok. :)

OUR STORY
We are Josh and Kali from Seattle, Washington. In 2015 we decided to change our lives. We sold everything we owned bought a RV and a truck starting living in our RV full time in 30 days! Full time rv living was a major change for us. We hadn't made any plans to change to this rv life until one day it hit us we couldn't have the American Dream and travel to. Choosing to travel meant downsizing our life and becoming minimalists. It was the BEST decision we have ever made. Now we plan to travel non-stop in our 33ft. fifth wheel full time. Join the adventure as we RV across the United States (US)

THE WITCH'S FOOT - The History Guy in Bucksport, Maine
Jonathan Buck was born in Woburn, Massachusetts on February 20, 1719, and raised in Haverhill, Massachusetts. He died March 18, 1795, in Bucksport, Maine. He is the founder of the town of Bucksport, having settled what was known as Plantation 1, building the first sawmill and opening the first general store.
The two grave markers for Col. Jonathan Buck
Colonel Buck was a justice of the peace and is the subject of a legend that holds that he ordered a witch put to death by burning, and this witch put a curse on his tomb. There is a monument to Col. Buck erected in the Bucksport Cemetery in 1870 which bears a stain roughly in the shape of a woman's lower leg. According to the legend, the stain is the leg and foot of the witch, and that the mark has reappeared whenever the tombstone has been replaced.
Jonathan Buck left Haverhill when his request to build a shipyard on the Merrimack River was denied and instead he was offered privileges on a tributary on another side of his land. Since Buck did not own the land on the opposite side of the brook, he saw no ability to thrive as a shipbuilder in Haverhill.
In 1775 Buck was appointed by the Massachusetts Provincial Congress as Colonel in the 5th Regiment of the District of Maine Militia in Lincoln County and placed in charge of Fort Pownall located at the mouth of the Penobscot River. He was one of the leaders of the Penobscot Expedition in July-August, 1779, a major loss for the colonial forces. After this, Buck trekked back to Haverhill to be with his sons, and did not return to Maine until 1783.
Fort Knox Altus (Secrets)
Fort Knox Altus (Secrets)
This video is a trailer for a possible video game, looking for lost treasures and an unknown secret about human history. The Fort Knox shown in this video is based off of the Civil War Fort Knox in Maine. Sound track and Fort Knox models are made by Robert Derrickson.
Please let me know what you think, I want to see if there is any interest in the video game idea. I may also make a mod of this fort for an existing video game.
Altus means secrets in Latin

Fort Knox History::
The American Revolution and the War of 1812 brought enemy British ships to the Penobscot River. During both wars, Great Britain seized control of the river, fought battles in the river valley's towns, and claimed the surrounding land for the British crown. With America's defeat of Great Britain isthe two wars, British claims to the area did not last. Still, the U.S. Government recognized that a defensless Penobscot River could be attacked again and the rivers increasingly prosperous towns, such as Bangor, threatened. By 1825, the nation's defense plans thus included a fort at the present-day site of Fort Knox. But, no funds were actually provided for the construction until nearly two decades later, with tension still present between the United States and Great Britian, most recently over the location of Maine's northeast border.
After acquiring land and designing a large modern fort, the U.S. Department of War and it Corps of Engineers began building Fort Knox, sited to guard the narrow channel through which all enemy ships would have to pass. Lieutenant Isaac Stevens, a young West Point graduate, was placed in charge of the massive project. Construction began in May 1844.
Stevens and his crews built the gun batteries nearest the river and tried to get them ready for cannons. Workers then excavated the main fort site and by about 1853, work began on the granite foundations and walls of the large, central for building.
The fort saw two periods of military activity. From 20 to 54 troops were garrisoned here during the Civil War. As the fort was still under construction at that time, they lived in temporary wooden buildings behind the forts granite structure. About 575 troops from Connecticuit lived at the fort for one month during the Spanish-American War. They lived outside the main fort structure in large tents. No enemy ships ever appeared on the Penobscot or threatened its towns during these years.

Special thanks to the ghosts of Fort Knox in Prospect, Maine: Luke Walker, Leopald Hegyi and Ruth Eva with special guest Mike.
Aurora Borealis - Stockton Springs, Maine - June 22-23, 2015
Between around 10pm and 2am June 22 and 23rd, the Maine sky was alive with purple spikes and glowing arcs and waves of green. Add to this phenomemon - known as aurora borealis or northern lights - fireflies darting about, a warm breeze, a visible moon and peepers chirping and it was a recipe for a perfect summer night. Timelapse images in first 18 seconds taken from Stockton Springs looking north to Prospect, Frankfort, Mt. Waldo and Bangor.
Note: I was out during the hours above taking these shots when I should have been home asleep resting and healing my injured back, so pardon the imperfections! Didn't want to miss this fantastic aurora for anything!
