American pantomime, panto for short, refers to works of theatrical entertainment that have been presented in the United States of America since 1876. The works are derived from the entertainment genre of pantomime that developed in England, presented either as they are in Britain or adapted for the American stage and tailored to American audiences. Pantomime in America, as in England, is usually performed at Christmas time. The entertainments, aimed at families, are based on nursery stories and fairy tales, and they incorporate songs (traditional, popular and new), slapstick comedy, often topical jokes, magic, some cross-dressing, local references, audience participation, and mild adult innuendo.
Although pantomime was not frequently produced in the US during the 20th century and is not well known in America, productions of pantomime, both professional and amateur, have been seen nearly every year somewhere in the US over the past couple of decades.
The earliest known pantomime in the U.S. was Robinson Crusoe produced at St. John's Theatre, New York in 1786. A production at Olympic Theatre in New York of Humpty Dumpty ran for over 1,200 performances in 1868, becoming one of the most successful American pantomimes.
American pantomime, like the British pantomime, incorporates audience participation.
In 1993 there was a production of Cinderella at the UCLA Freud Theatre, starring Zsa Zsa Gabor. Pantomonium Productions has produced pantomimes annually in New York City since 2004. Stages Repertory Theatre in Houston, Texas, has been performing original pantomime-style musicals during the Christmas holidays since 2008: Panto Sleeping Beauty, Panto Pinocchio, Panto Red Riding Hood, Panto Mother Goose and Panto Goldilocks. Since 2004, People's Light and Theatre Company, in Malvern, Pennsylvania, has been presenting an annual Christmas pantomime season.
Lythgoe Family Productions has produced pantomimes each winter since 2010 in California. Their first production was Cinderella in North Hollywood, starring Jerry Mathers and Freddie Stroma. This was followed in 2011 by A Snow White Christmas, starring Marina Sirtis as The Wicked Queen and Neil Patrick Harris as The Magic Mirror, and A Cinderella Christmas, starring Fred Willard as Baron Hardup, Cinderella's father. In 2012, the company mounted A Snow White Christmas at the Pasadena Playhouse, starring Ariana Grande as Snow White, Charlene Tilton as The Wicked Queen and Neil Patrick Harris again as The Magic Mirror. The production drew 13,000 ticket buyers. Aladdin was scheduled for the 2013 holiday season at Pasadena.

10_Mary Unveils the Apocalypse: Sardis
Tonight we’re going to look in detail at the fifth letter to the angel-bishops of Sardis. Sardis is the Church of the wealthy, that is, North America, particularly United States and Canada. Sardis was one of the great cities of primitive history. In Greek lore it was simply the greatest of all the cities. It’s nothing less than shocking than to say that this wealthy, generous, busy, influential Church is dead. Who can even count the organized works of charity in the Catholic Church of the United States? And the Churches are full compared to Europe. Jesus will compare Europe to the lukewarm Laodicea. But He is calling the USA and Canada dead! Dead in sin! Religious orders are in need of reform. The hour of trial is coming.

Inside the World of Jehovah's Witnesses
Jehovah's Witnesses have a long history of being persecuted around the world. Their activities are banned or restricted in several countries. They are considered an extremist organization in Russia, while their members are imprisoned in South Korea and Eritrea. Even near their main headquarters and publishing house in New York state, Jehovah's Witnesses lead a somewhat secluded life. VOA's Anush Avetisyan has the story.

We had a few comments that there were only two or three real machine guns in this video. In the USA, The National Firearms Act, 26 U.S.C. 5845(b), defines a machine gun to include any weapon which shoots, is designed to shoot, or can be readily restored to shoot, automatically more than one shot, without manual reloading, by a single function of the trigger. We use the same definition.
How to Pass Your Driving Road Test | Driving Lessons
Watch more How to Drive videos:
So what I want to do today is give you a good understanding of what to expect on a driver's road test, and give you some tips on how to pass the test.
And the test is basically a series of turns, some rights, and some lefts, and then two maneuvers, a broken U-turn, and parallel parking.
So for the right turn, where we'll start, the basic idea for the right turn is that you're going to have your car over to the right side of the lane that you're on and you're going to make sure you make the turn into the right lane of the street that you're going onto. Pretty much no guesswork in a right turn. It's always the same, from right to right at all times. Right lane to right lane.
The left turn is a lot trickier. And the left turn is the one that may get you on that road test. And the reason for the left turn being trickier is because you've got some decisions to make on the left. Do I make the turn into this lane or that lane? That will be determined whether or not that's a one-way or a two-way street. So you're ability to recognize that will be crucial on your road test.
What are some of the ways you can tell? A one-way street typically will have a sign on either corner. If you see a sign it's usually a one-way. It'll have an arrow on it. Therefore, the rule of thumb on the turns being closest to the available lane, if you see the one-way sign, the turn has to go into the left lane. If the street doesn't have a sign and it has a line down the middle, you can tell by the color of the line whether or not it's a one-way or a two-way. A white line would indicate one-way street. Again, you'll make your turn onto the left side. A yellow line indicates a two-way street, which means that you've got to make the turn out to the right side of the street.
The most difficult one will be the street that doesn't have the line on it. The way you can tell on a street like that, look for the direction of the parked cars. If they're parked in opposite directions, that's going to indicate a two-way street. Remember your rule of thumb, you choose the closest available lane, and you're going to swing out to the right. This is the turn that typically tricks people the most on the road test.
Your two maneuvers are a parking, and a broken U-turn. Broken U-turn real simple, you just pull over against the curb on the right, put your indicator on. The whole idea is to take your car from the right side here, bring it across to the other side, then you're going to back up, and then you're going to go back the same way you came on that roadway.
My tip for this is when you're doing the backing part, you don't want to back up all the way to the other curb, because usually when you do that you come out on the wrong side of the street.
The other maneuver is the parallel parking. Don't worry so much about it. You get a big space to park, and as long as you look back and go back slowly, it shouldn't be a problem for you.
And that's it. That's your road test. Usually six turns, three rights, three lefts, a park, a broken U-turn, and it's over in about 10 minutes.
Good Luck.

Join the Smart Driver's Mastermind Group:
Hi there smart drivers, welcome back.
Rick with Smart Drive Test talking to you today about parallel parking between cones. I had a comment from nikelnichol. I also had a comment from Nicolas Mazer and both of those smart drivers wanted me to do a video on how to park between cones for the purposes of passing a road test. About a year ago, I also had requests from WorstNightmare666 who also wanted me to do this.
And I should have done this a lot earlier.
So I do apologize for the delay in getting this video up for you. So that's what we're gonna work on today. Now the first thing you're gonna need is you're going to need those 36 inch tall, 1 meter tall pylons. Sometimes called delineators. And you could pick those up at a rental shop for about $10 for four of them for the day So they're inexpensive.
Now parallel parking between cones for the purposes of passing a road test. If you haven't seen the parallel park video already about parking behind a single vehicle or between two vehicles, definitely have a look at that. I'll put the card up in the corner for you and have a look at that video.
Now parallel parking between cones tends to be a little bit easier because you got better reference points. And we're gonna go over that now. The first thing you need to do, is you need to set up the cones. You want to set up the cones, as you can see here in the video, approximately a foot wider than the width of your vehicle. You want to put the cone 12 inches or 20 centimeters on either side of the car; on the passenger side and the driver's side.
And for the length of the vehicle you want to put the cones one and a half vehicle lengths. So simply park your vehicle where you want it to end up when you finish your parallel park and place the cones at the front and then approximately another half a length behind the vehicle. Put the cones behind the vehicle at approximately the same distance on the driver side and the passenger side. As you get better and better and more comfortable with parallel parking, you can move the cones in and narrow the space that you're going to park into.
But for most of these driving centers, the cones are going to be one and a half vehicle length distance between the front and the back. And the reason for that is because any tighter than that and it's just too difficult for new drivers to be able to do that. So that's how you set up the cones. It's not a specific feet and inches or a specific measurement for setting the cones up. Just put them around your vehicle and make them relative.
And as I said, as you get better and better and you're working on this aspect of preparation for your road test, just move the cones in a closer and essentially that's all it is. So what we're gonna do here is we're gonna hook up the cameras--the other camera--so you can see everything going on here, and we're gonna do a couple of parallel parks. And I'll go through it step-by-step and give you instructions on how to do this.
Good luck on your road test.

SUMMARY
=======
Pennsylvania, officially the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, is a state located in the northeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. The Appalachian Mountains run through its middle. The Commonwealth is bordered by Delaware to the southeast, Maryland to the south, West Virginia to the southwest, Ohio to the west, Lake Erie and the Canadian province of Ontario to the northwest, New York to the north, and New Jersey to the east.
Pennsylvania is the 33rd-largest state by area, and the 6th-most populous state according to the last official U.S. Census count in 2010. It is the 9th-most densely populated of the 50 states. Pennsylvania's two most populous cities are Philadelphia (1,567,872), and Pittsburgh (303,625). The state capital and its 10th largest city is Harrisburg. Pennsylvania has 140 miles (225 km) of waterfront along Lake Erie and the Delaware Estuary. The state is one of the 13 original founding states of the United States; it came into being in 1681 as a result of a royal land grant to William Penn, the son of the state's namesake. Part of Pennsylvania (along the Delaware River), together with the present State of Delaware, had earlier been organized as the Colony of New Sweden. It was the second state to ratify the United States Constitution, on December 12, 1787. Independence Hall, where the United States Declaration of Independence and United States Constitution were drafted, is located in the state's largest city of Philadelphia. During the American Civil War, the Battle of Gettysburg was fought in the south central region of the state. Valley Forge near Philadelphia was General Washington's headquarters during the bitter winter of 1777–78.
