Dutchman's Truffiere - We found the treasure!
Passion. Patience. Perseverance.
Jacob Waltz was a young man with a dream who set out from his home in Germany in 1839. Between 1839-1863 he traveled all over the United States, from North Carolina, to Georgia, to Mississippi, to California. In 1863 he migrated to Arizona and staked the first of three mining claims in the Bradshaw Mountain area on September 21, 1863. All this in an effort to pursue his passion . . . to find gold.
In 1868 he moved to the Salt River Valley area and filed a homestead claim on 160 acres. He died 23 years later in 1891, but not before passing on his deathbed revelations about prospecting for gold and the clues to the hidden fortune he claimed to have found just a few years prior. You and I have come to know the story as the legend of the Dutchman's lost mine.
Whether he actually found gold or not remains a mystery to this day, but that mystery kept people searching. In honor of the Dutchman and his association with this area, we have founded Dutchman's Truffiere. Truffles are referred to as black gold or black diamonds and while you don't dig for them in quite the same way, prospecting for them still requires the same amount of patience.
Dutchman's Truffiere was founded by a group of like-minded foodies and entrepreneurs. We understand the importance of patience when investing, as well as the value of hard work and perseverance. The truffiere will require all three and we are happy to do it.
Specialty crops are fading into non-existence around the world and we want to prevent Perigord truffles from becoming one of those disappearing crops. Dutchman's Truffiere is a way to carry on Jacob's legend, pass on the lore and preserve one of the greatest gastronomical gems to be found anywhere, because . . . we found the treasure!

8th Grader Isaac Peralta DOES IT ALL at the 2017 EBC West Camp
Isaac Peralta is a rising 8th grader who showed that he is a true two way player at the 2017 EBC West Camp. The Class of 2022 prospect excelled on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court. Peralta used a lightning quick spin move and deft ball handling skills to beat defenders to the rim. Isaac has a consistent outside shot and did a good job passing the ball to open teammates for good looks.

OUT THERE - Desert Wells Apache Junction Arizona
Off Road fun out at the Desert Wells Multi-use area east of Apache Junction just off the US 60. I took my wife out there to get her to drive the Polaris Ranger RZR 570. She had fun and trails were mostly easy, hard packed and level. I included some of the highlights as we took over 2 hours of video. This is a good place for new riders and youth. This is cattle country, you will get to see a lot of bulls out there.

There have been many scientific studies to help support this phenomenon. A recent article that appeared in Reuters stated, Stronger and more lasting memories are likely to be formed when a person is relaxed and the memory-related neurons in the brain fire in sync with certain brain waves, scientists said. Researchers from the United States said their findings could help develop new therapies for people with learning disabilities and some types of dementia.
'This study establishes a direct relationship between events at the circuit level of the brain...and their effects on human behavior,' said Ueli Rutishauser of the California Institute of Technology, who worked on the study.
Synchronization in the brain is influenced by “theta waves” which are associated with relaxation, daydreaming and drowsiness, but also with learning and memory formation, the scientists explained in the study in the journal Nature.
While scientists already know that relaxed minds are better at receiving new information, this study pinpoints a mechanism by which relaxation neurons work together to improve memory.
'Our research shows that when memory-related neurons are well coordinated to theta waves during the learning process, memories are stronger,' said Adam Mamelak, a neurosurgeon at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
