Trailer Park Living in Perivolos Beach, Santorini, Greece - November 2019

You can take the family out of trailer park, but you can’t take the trailer park out of the family ...

Santorini is expensive and the accomodation is what gets you. There were some places in Oia that looked fantastic, but Cami and I were astonished at the prices (600EUR/night - - that’s about $800CAD/night over budget ... ) Also, there are not a lot airbnbs and there are even less with two bedrooms/three beds ... So, you get what you get. The trailer was fine .., but it was far from luxurious and it took a while to adjust to it, after leaving our place in Naxos.
The whole trailer sloped towards the kids bed, the walls were paper thin, there were numerous things that were broken, the burners and the oven didn’t work, there were hardly any utensils or dishes. The mattresses had holes in them, but ... there was a pool and the kids loved the cats. Honestly, the kids will likley only remember the pool and the cats. Ezri also really likes getting up in the cats faces ... Noble still talks about the time where a cat scratched him when we were in Croatia. So, I hope Ezzy doesn’t get scratched ... These are the types of places that will make us really appreciate our home in Calgary, and at least it is much more space than we had in our 180sf apartment in Hong Kong ... Also, Noble swims. In a single day he went from only swimming in his floaty to swimming in the shallow area with his face down, to diving in and swiming all by himself in the deep end! We are pretty proud of him. I was doing doc review the morning that he started swimming and it is pretty neat to be around for so many of these firsts that I may have missed out on, if I was at work.
