The 1,200 acre La Isla Ranch has over 2.5 miles of frontage on the Pacific Ocean. The ranch is comprised of four tracts of land, including a 43.5 acre private airstrip, originally built by the US Military, and an island on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. This island is one of the few places in Panama that has western views with breathtaking sunsets, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. A car bridge provides access from the private island to the mainland and Rancho Lane. In addition to the private airstrip, driving access to other parts of Panama is possible with the Pan-American Highway, which abuts the eastern boundary of the larger tract of land. This well-maintained highway, which runs alongside the scenic Pacific coast, provides access to all major towns and cities in Panama. The people in this area are dedicated to agricultural work as it is home to one of the largest producers of grains, and the best livestock in the country. Tourist from all over the world come to the area for the natural beauty of the Veraguas province, which includes tropical forest, deep valleys, spectacular falls of crystalline water and natural pools with refreshing water. The ranch is a true hidden paradise in the midst of nature with more than 200 varieties of orchids, and visitors to the area will enjoy spotting more than 400 species of birds, and mammals, reptiles and insects. Fly fishing in nearby estuaries, and rivers, bay fishing and deep sea charters with boat captains are all available. Swimmer and surfers will especially be delighted with the sandy beaches and nearby resorts. Without a doubt La Isla Ranch is the perfect recreational retreat to swim, surf, ride ATV’s or just relax and enjoy the abundant natural beauty of Panama.
La Isla Ranch is strategically located in the province of Veraguas, an hour drive south of Santiago, the capital of Veraguas in the Republic of Panama. The country of Panama covers an area the size of South Carolina, has a modern infrastructure, and has been nicknamed “the cross roads of the world.”
With over 100 international banks, Panama is the second largest financial center in Americas after New York and it offers several advantages for foreign investors. The US dollar based economy, its strategic geographic location with direct flights to most of the major cities, political stability, strong economic outlook, 20-year exemption on real estate taxes and comprehensive incentive program for retirees, are all attractive attributes when considering investing in Panama.
Located in the southern most region of Central America, Panama is landscaped by low mountain ranges, thick jungles, and fertile green valleys and plains. The area is readily accessible with over 30 domestic airports offering flights to the Tocumen International Airport which is located in the modern metropolis called Panama City. This technologically advanced airport offers all of the comforts and services one would expect from an international airport, duty-free shops, multi-cuisine restaurants, and hotel reservation desks, along with taxi and public bus services to the city of Panama. The cosmopolitan capital of Panama is Panama City, often referred to as being “like a mini Miami.” The city is an international banking center, with numerous high rise buildings, and many similarities in the exciting food and cultural scenes. Inexpensive flights to Panama City are available most of the year, a good incentive for tourists and families who come to see the world-renowned Panama Canal. This engineering marvel attracts many people to the 22,014 acre Soberania National Park and the Miraflores Locks where the canal watching is the best. Other points of interest include the Chagres National Park which covers 320,000 acres which include a tropical rain forest and two lakes, and numerous museums which bring the rich Panama past into the present.

Hello Everyone,
Welcome to another episode of Freedom Backpackers.
In this episode we explore Bastimentos Island.
Bastimentos island is located in Bocas Del Toro District, and is about 62 km in size, one of the largest islands in Panama.
We arrive at the Selina Red Frog Hostel, spend the afternoon getting settled in before heading out to check out the beach. After some fun in the sun it was time to head back and spend the evening in the kitchen experiment with random dishes.

Lonely Planet Panama Panama Trip
My trip to Panama.
I go on a month long trip to Panama visiting many sights. Searching high and low and going off the beaten path. This is my adventure log of sorts. From the mountainsides of Caldera. To the growing city of David. The dilapidated beauty of Caso Viejo with its architecture and old style theatres is a sight to behold.
I enter the Chiriqui Provence and have a great time with the locals. The rivers, streams, valleys and springs are all equally beautiful. Panama from what I experienced is a place with serious character and texture. With something new around every corner I don't waste any time in seeing what there is to try.
Take a look and see if Panama can lure you in. Enjoy.

TRAVEL PANAMA: Culture, Art, Nature & Resorts
Siya and I love to try all different types of travel. So, when Transat Holidays invited us to Panama to try one of their Sun Savvy Collection, we said, yes of course. However, resort travel doesn't mean you have to stay within the perimeter of the resort. You can get out and experience the true culture of a place by taking part in day excursions. How about you? Do you ever stay at resorts? What are your thoughts? What type of traveller do you consider yourself?

Visit Panama: Walk in Baru National Park Boquete
Don't bother with a guide to see the famous Millenary Querus Trees in Baru National Park. Do it yourself. And, if not interested in 1,000-2,000 trees that managed to live through a volcanic eruption. Don't bother with the hike.
Monkeys, what I was looking for, are not common here! This is an after-the-fact told to me by guide, Ruben. Sigh...you win some, you lose some. By the way, Costa Rica is on the other side of Mount Baru.

Panama-Bocas del Toro:
Bocas del Toro is a province of Panama. Its extension is 4,643.9 square kilometers comprising the mainland and nine main islands. The province consists of the Bocas del Toro Archipelago, Bahía Almirante (Almirante Bay), Laguna de Chiriquí (Chiriquí Lagoon), and adjacent mainland. The capital is the city of Bocas del Toro (Bocas Town) on Isla Colón (Colón Island). Other major cities or towns include Almirante, and Changuinola. The province has a total population of 125,461 people (2010).Christopher Columbus and his crew discovered the area in 1502. Bocas del Toro borders the Caribbean Sea to the north, Limón Province of Costa Rica to the west, Chiriquí Province to the south, and Ngöbe-Buglé Comarca to the east. The Río Sixaola forms part of the border with Costa Rica. An old railroad bridge spans the river between Guabito and Sixaola, Costa Rica. The bridge is a border crossing used by tourists going between destinations in Bocas and Costa Rica. The province contains two national parks: Isla Bastimentos National Marine Park and La Amistad International Park. The Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute operates a research station on Colón Island just northwest of Bocas Town. There are many banana plantations in Bocas del Toro, often called the oro verde or green gold of Central America.
Christopher Columbus explored here in 1502, while searching for the passage to the Pacific ocean. Columbus's original name for the island was Isla del Drago. In colonial times, Bocas del Toro was part of Veraguas. It was originally part of Costa Rica until, in one of the many territorial disputes, Colombia took control of it with armed forces. The then government made a reservation called Bocas del Toro in 1834. In 1850, Bocas del Toro became a part of Chiriqui, then was separated from it and became part of Colon. On November 16, 1903, Bocas del Toro was separated from Colon and became its own province. In 1941, Bocas del Toro was divided into 2 districts, Bocas del Toro and Crimamola. Four years later, it became into the same division as before. In 1970, Bocas del Toro district became Changuinola, eliminated the district Bastimentos and added three new districts to what it is today. The extensions of the districts changed in 1997 when the reservation Ngöbe Buglé Comarca was made.

Coiba National Park - Panama
Coiba National Park is an archipelago of 38 islands located on the Pacific coast of Veraguas province in the Gulf of Chiriqui. It is a UNESCO World heritage site as of 2005 due to its 430,000 acres of rich and well preserved natural resources; actually, 80% of its resources are completely untouched. The main island in the park, and the reason why the park took its name, is Coiba Island. This island is the biggest in Panama (432km2) and is one of the country's main touristic destinations. Coiba Island was once a prison and it is believe that this is the reason why it is so well preserved, as its access was very restricted in the past. This island offers a beautiful virgin rainforest with a number of rivers draining to the ocean, multiple mammals' species like the howler monkeys and the white-tailed deer, 97 birds' species (out of 147 in the park)including the crested eagle, scarlet macaws and the Coiba spinetail and 4 turtle species: leatherback, hawksbill, olive and loggerhead.
Other islands in the park include: Granito de Oro, Jicaron, Brincaco, Uva, Rancheria, Canal de Afuera, Jicanita, Pajeros, Afuera, Montuosa and 28 smaller islets.
