The Grand Bazaar: Munchies Guide To Tehran (Part 1/3)
When it comes to Tehran, it's impossible to avoid politics and easy to overlook the Iranian city's thriving culinary scene. In our first installment of The MUNCHIES Guide to Tehran, our host Gelareh Kiazand introduces us to the bustling street food offerings in the city.
We begin our journey at the capital city's Grand Bazaar, since that's where commodities first arrive. Gelareh beelines for the market's food stands, where she samples dried fruits and nuts while waiting out the line at Moslem Restaurant, frequented by up to 5,000 kebab connoisseurs daily—well worth it for her favorite tah chin. At the more modest and bygone Tajrish Bazaar, she's the proverbial kid in a candy store, wading through copper and carpet vendors in search of sweet snacks, such as grape molasses and lavasak (fruit leather).

Iranian Yummy street foods (Steamed Red Beets and Cooked Beans ) Tehran - Iran
A Warm Remedy For The Cold Season : During the winter season, street vendors in Iranian cities sell warm red beets (Laboo) and Cooked beans (Baghali). The beets, with steam rising from them, are especially very inviting and provide the much needed warmth in the cold days, This root vegetable is a favorite winter snack for Iranians.Pick up a bowl of bâghâli while you’re getting some red beets as these two are usually sold side-by-side.
The Cooked beans are served with their skin, with Persian spice Golpar (Persian Hogweed) and vinegar sprinkled on them. You will peel the outer skin and eat the inside, Use your teeth to peel back the black line, squeeze the bottom to pop the soft center out, and discard the thick skin. You can see lots of people in winter that huddle together for warmth and share a bowl of yummy beans

People either enjoyed my undeniable charm or enjoyed watching me eat things like coconut worms, and thus Best Ever Food Review Show came to be.
I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer. If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.
Don’t forget to subscribe to Best Ever Food Review Show, so we can connect through food and travel and become Bestys!
