Palermo – Introduction – Palermo – Audio Guide – MyWoWo Travel App
Hi, my name's Rick, and I'm your personal guide. Along with MyWoWo, I'd like to welcome you to one of the Wonders of the World: Palermo.
When Palermo was founded by the Phoenicians in 735 BC, it was given the name of Ziz, meaning flower; and there are few places as deserving of such a name as this enchanting, colorful city.
Palermo spent almost two and a half centuries under Arab rule, from 831 to 1071. The Saracens made it the capital of Sicily and turned it into a major city, leaving their mark on the local culture, language and artistic tastes. When the Normans ousted the Arabs, they constructed buildings and Christian cathedrals with the involvement of Muslim artists, thus creating the wonderfully original Arab-Norman style we can see in a number of splendid monuments that have no equal in the world.
Together with the Cathedrals of Cefalù and Monreale, seven sites in Palermo form part of a UNESCO heritage site known as Arab-Norman Palermo”: the Royal Palace and Palatine Chapel, Zisa Palace, Palermo Cathedral, the Churches of San Giovanni degli Eremiti, Santa Maria dell'Ammiraglio and San Cataldo, and the ancient Admiral's Bridge...

Daily Life in Palermo | Italy Travel Video
We travel full time for more than two years now and love the location independent lifestyle. This way we can experience the daily life in Palermo Italy. The smile of the ice cream man, the attention for the coffee and the hidden local beach which is shared by the vendor of the flower stand. It makes our stay in Italy unforgettable. Being part of the habits and traditions of the locals is one of the things we love about our location independent life as travel couple. It is hard to describe how it feels to be part of the daily life of the local neighborhood.
This was our last week of the Find Your Pack co-working retreat in Palermo. It was so great to meet like-minded people, share ideas and inspiration while in the meantime we enjoyed the beauty of Sicily with the participants of this co-working retreat.
Also want to attend a co-working retreat, check the Pack website -

Sicily Travel Guide - Corleone Sicily
This is a mini Sicily travel guide. Corleone Sicily, is maybe one of my favorite places I've been. It may not be the usual getaway but I can recommend it. If you're wanting to travel Sicily and especially if you have a car spending a day or two in a place like Corleone can be quite a unique experience. Sicily, Italy was way beyond any of my expectations and I absolutely can't wait to go back to visit Sicily and see more.

Palazzo Abatellis And Regional Gallery Of Sicily – Presentation – Palermo – Audio Guide – MyWoWo Tra
Hi, my name's Jill, and I'm your personal guide. Along with MyWoWo, I'd like to welcome you to one of the Wonders of the World: Palazzo Abatellis.
Palazzo Abatellis is home to the Regional Gallery of Sicily, a splendid museum where you can see one of the world's most enchanting paintings: the Virgin Annunciate by Antonello da Messina.
This austere, elegant edifice was built between 1490 and 1495 by Matteo Carnelivari for the rich, influential Francesco Abatellis, Port Master of the Kingdom of Sicily, on the main road of the centuries-old neighborhood of Kalsa, near the port.
After Abatellis died, the building was turned into a convent, with alterations made to adapt it to monastic life.
After suffering severe damage in 1943 as a result of the bombing raids that followed the Allied landing in Sicily, the prestigious building was restored, and it was decided it was to host the Gallery of Medieval Art. The portico was thus rebuilt, along with the elegant loggia and the central hall, the ceiling of which had collapsed, and the large spaces - which had been divided into little rooms for the nuns - were restored...

Palazzo Dei Normanni And Palatine Chapel – History – Palermo – Audio Guide – MyWoWo Travel App
Hi, my name's Rick, and I'm your personal guide. Along with MyWoWo, I'd like to welcome you to one of the Wonders of the World: Palazzo dei Normanni, the Royal Palace of Palermo, with the extraordinary Palatine Chapel.
The imposing Palazzo dei Normanni, which is currently the seat of the Sicilian Regional Assembly, has a long, complex history. It sits at the highest point in the city, where the Carthaginians and then the Romans probably built their defenses. Thereafter, the Arabs, who occupied Sicily and made Palermo their splendid capital, build the Qasr, or Castle, in this area. When the Normans ousted the Arabs, they rebuilt the fortress.
Thus, the construction you can admire today is for the most part the result of work carried out on the orders of the Norman, Roger II. After he became king of Sicily in 1130, he transferred his residence here, and had a palace of legendary beauty built, as you can see in the only two parts from the time that have survived: the Ruggero Hall and the Palatine Chapel...

Cefalù - Full Documentary - Romance of Sicily w/Massimo Villas
Sicily Travel Tips : Romance and Spirit of Sicily - Cefalù Documentary w/Massimo Villas
My friend Massimo invited us to stay in Cefalu and explore the surrounding areas including local towns and villages. We also went to Palermo to eat street food and of course ice-cream!
We found the house of Aleister crowley, the wickedest man in the world and climbed La Rocca. There is a lot to do in Cefalu and in this documentary I go to see the wine making process at a vineyard in Sant'anastasia and we see where Cinema Paradiso was filmed and The Godfather. Boat trips, food, drink, bikes and much more!
Come with me and enjoy the smells, tastes and delights of Cefalu and Sicily!
