Perth - City Video Guide
Perth, the capital of Western Australia, follows the Swan River from the port of Fremantle to its source in the Darling Range.
Sunny and clean, Perth is considered among the most livable cities in the world. Its cityscape varies from Art Deco gems, to the Tudor-inspired London Court. The Swan Bell Tower provides a bird's-eye view of the whole metropolis.
The Art Gallery of Western Australia describes the development of the state through art. Inside the Royal Mint is the largest gold coin ever made.
Perth's coastline, with pristine sand beaches, is popular among visitors. Others head straight for the boutique wineries of the Swan Valley.
Kings Park is where Perth's first explorers discovered a natural spring. The Botanic Gardens brim with remarkable plant species.
Rottnest Island or Rotto has long been the favorite weekend getaway for Perth's city dwellers.
Cottlesloe Beach is on the city's doorstep, and renowned for its excellent surf. Hillary's Boat Harbour and the Sorrento Quay boardwalk are ideal for a sunset stroll.

(*PERTH WA* Fremantle Cottesloe Beach) - Get From Airport
Arriving at Perth airport there are often beautiful views from plane depending on the which direction you are coming.
My favourite is over the ocean and banking left above Rottnest Island. This also gives you a great view of Cottesloe Beach, Fremantle and Perth City.
Be aware that Australia is very strict about what you bring in to Australia and will check your luggage.
Best to pack all food, wooden and animal items separately so that you can quickly show customs what you have and be on your way.
There are often long lines at Perth airport...what can I say, that's just the way it is... so be cool and it will be over soon. You'll love Perth after getting through the lines.
Note that the domestic airport is quite far from the international airport. It takes about 30 min by shuttle and costs about $10.
Perth airport is about 30 min from the city by car, taxi and bus (sorry no trains from airport).
Taxis cost about $30 to the city. If traveling alone, cheaper option is City Shuttle Bus about $20

Another good option is Fremantle Airport Shuttle Bus

and they will drop you at your door if you ask them.
Fremantle is a beautiful historic port city 15 km from Perth and close to some of Perth's best beaches.
The Fremantle Shuttle will also drop you off at Cottesloe Beach which is arguably Perth's most popular beach.
It's connected by bus and train to Perth and Fremantle and truly is a great place to be.
So next time you are in Perth, please come and stay with us at the Cottesloe Beach Chalets. Fully self-contained accommodation just 1 minute from the water.

Driving around the South Perth Esplanade, Western Australia, in a DRIVER LESS Intelligent Bus. It felt safe, quiet and a real
adventure.
My only regret is that the Air Conditioner is not up to Western Australian standard. A rather minor thing that can be easily rectified and will be soon, I am sure.
Buses in Perth city during peak hour - Transperth
In this video we see some buses in Perth's CBD during the afternoon peak. We start at the intersection of Williams Street & The Esplanade which is just outside Elizabeth Quay train station and busport. We then head to the intersection of Williams Street & St Georges Terrace where we spend most of the video. Just to make things more interesting a storm started brewing which brought some rain towards the end of the video.
We see a variety of different buses including Mercedes Benz O405NH's, OC500LE CNG's & Volvo B7RLE's with Volgren bodywork. These are all typical buses in Perth but we also see a couple of more interesting buses including an old Mercedes Benz O405, a Renault PR100.2 & PR180.2 and an Iveco Citelis 18 GNG; the only one in the Transperth bus fleet.
