Kadriorg Park 2s. 2018y.
The farmstead at the very edge of the Kadriorg Park, now called the House Museum of Peter I, was bought by the Tsar in 1714 because of its ideal location: the building was on a hillside slope, from which the city and the sea were perfectly visible. This allowed the tsar to track the movements of Swedish ships approaching the city at a very close distance. Reval summer estate was forgotten after the death of Peter I and Catherine I, but in 1804 Alexander I demanded to restore the dilapidated house, and two years later it was opened as a museum. Thus, the House Museum of Peter the Great is the oldest museum in Tallinn.

I came back to Tallinn. Today I am going to take a tram and go outside the city. People rode on the tram, taking cards like ours. Without the card I had to pay 2 euros. Everyone had a green card and asked what it was. To the citizens of Tallinn (public transport) is free As far as I know, public transportation is all free to the citizens of Tallinn. I was one of the passengers who paid for the money while I was on my way to the destination. A 10 minute tram ride from the old town leads to the Cardio Palace. Russia's Peter the Great, who built St. Petersburg, built a beautiful baroque summer house for his wife, Catherine, in 1718. This person is Peter the Great. As I walked in, there were children watching. Wherever children go, they are pure and cute. It is a gorgeous room used by Peter the Great and Ekaterina. On one wall there is a letter symbolizing Catherine, and on the other side is a letter symbolizing Pyotr. Both sides of this gorgeous room have the same shape as a mirror, centered on an eagle with three heads, symbolizing Russia. The story of the teacher explaining to the level of the child is interesting. The children began to lie on the floor to see the ceiling painting in earnest. I decided to jump in on this. On the ceiling, a Greek myth is depicted, a hunter who turns into a deer symbolizes the Swedish King Carl II, and Daana, who takes a bath, symbolizes himself to Peter the Great, who had fought with him. I like working with kids. You can take a walk around the park and see the museum at the same time.

Tulin tagasi Tallinnasse. Tallinna kodanikele (ühistransport) on tasuta Minu arvates on ühistransport Tallinna kodanikele tasuta. 10-minutilise trammisõidu kaugusel vanalinnast viib Cardio Palace. Venemaa Peter Peetrus, kes ehitas Peterburi, ehitas 1718. aastal oma naisele Catherine'ile ilusa barokksti suvila. See inimene on Peetrus. Õpetaja lugu, milles selgitatakse lapse taset, on huvitav. St. Nicholas' Church and Museum | NIGULISTE | Tallinn
St. Nicholas' Church (Niguliste kirik) is a medieval former church in Tallinn, Estonia. It was dedicated to Saint Nicholas, the patron of the fishermen and sailors. Originally built in the 13th century, it was partially destroyed in Soviet Bombing of Tallinn in World War II. It has since been restored and today houses a branch of the Art Museum of Estonia, focusing mainly on ecclesiastical art from the Middle Ages onward. The former church is also used as a concert hall.
Most famous of the artworks in the museum is perhaps a Danse Macabre by the Lübeck master Bernt Notke, which depicts the transience of life, the skeletal figures of Death taking along the mighty as well as the feeble ones. Danse Macabre or The Dance of Death was a popular medieval motif in art. Only the initial fragment of the original 30 metres wide painting (accomplished at the end of the 15th century) has been preserved and is currently displayed in St Nicholas' Church.
The museum contains several other notable late Gothic and early Northern Renaissance works of art. The former High Altar of St Nicholas' Church was made between 1478–1481 in the workshop of Hermen Rode, a master painter from Lübeck. Paintings on the outer flanks of this double-winged altar depict the life of Saint Nicholas, the central part and the unfolded wings expose over thirty wooden sculptures forming the so-called gallery of saints.
The museum also contains a special silver chamber with the silver treasures of guilds, craft corporations and the Brotherhood of Blackheads.

Tallinn is the capital, primate and the most populous city of Estonia. Located in the northern part of the country, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea, it has a population of 434,562. Administratively a part of Harju maakond (county), Tallinn is a major financial, industrial, cultural, educational and research centre of Estonia. Tallinn is located 80 kilometres (50 mi) south of Helsinki, Finland, 320 kilometres (200 mi) west of Saint Petersburg, Russia, and 380 kilometres (240 mi) east of Stockholm, Sweden. It has close historical ties with these three cities. From the 13th century until the first half of the 20th century Tallinn was known in most of the world by its historical German name Reval.
Tallinn, first mentioned in 1219, received city rights in 1248, but the earliest human settlements date back 5,000 years. The first recorded claim over the land was laid by Denmark in 1219, after a successful raid of Lyndanisse led by king Valdemar II, followed by a period of alternating Scandinavian and Teutonic rulers. Due to its strategic location, the city became a major trade hub, especially from the 14th to the 16th century, when it grew in importance as part of the Hanseatic League. Tallinn's Old Town is one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Tallinn has the highest number of startups per person among European countries and is a birthplace of many international high technology companies, including Skype and Transferwise. The city is to house the headquarters of the European Union's IT agency. Providing to the global cybersecurity it is the home to the NATO Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence. Tallinn is ranked as a global city and has been listed among the top ten digital cities in the world. The city was a European Capital of Culture for 2011, along with Turku in Finland.

Contemporary architecture and ancient suggestions, the Louis Kahn's Hurva Synagogue project
2013 CHNT Video Award - Vote if you like it!
Francesco CERBELLA / Federico CAPONI
(Dipartimento di Architettura, Firenze, Italy)
Abstract:
The Video proposed here consists in the reconstruction of the Louis I. Kahn's first proposal for Hurva Synagogue in Jerusalem (the project was developed between 1968 and 1974). Kahn was used to incorporate elements of the ruins into most of his architecture, in 1967 he received a commission to replace the destroyed synagogue called Hurva, which name can be translated from the Hebrew -marvelous coincidence- in the word ruin. For Kahn, this project presented an extraordinary opportunity to express his most deeply felt ideas about architecture. It was his chance to build the great Jewish monument at the religious center of the new Jewish state, in the region where the three major Western religions were born. As the world's leading Jewish architect, Kahn was conscious of the huge responsibility of this commission. In this project it is possible to find the elements that characterize Kahn's architecture: a configuration of space as discrete volumes, complex ambient light and shadow, a celebration of mass and structure, the use of materials with both modernist and archaic qualities. Kahn also expresses his concept of wrapping ruins around buildings: The new building should itself consist of two buildings, an outer one which would absorb the light and heat of the sun, and an inner one, giving the effect of a separate but related building.... The outer building of synagogue recalls some ancient monumental ruin, perhaps from Egypt, or even from some more remote past now lost to history. The video shows the aspect of the whole composition, it focuses on the relationship with the ancient ruins, pointing out that these were the elements of inspiration for the project.

Walking Around the outside of Kadriorg Palace during SPB Tour in Tallinn, Estonia
After the death of Peter the Great, the palace received little attention from the Russian royal family. It was sporadically visited, by the empress Elisabeth and Catherine the Great. In 1828-1830 extensive restoration works of the palace and grounds took place. Between 1741 and 1917, the palace also housed the civilian governor of the Governorate of Estonia.[5]
After the declaration of independence of Estonia in 1919, the palace became state property. For a time, one of the wings housed the studio of sculptor August Weizenberg while the palace was used for art exhibitions. Between 1921 and 1928 the palace housed what would eventually develop into the Art Museum of Estonia (see below), but in connection with a state visit by the Swedish king Gustaf V of Sweden, the palace was turned into a summer residence for the head of state.[5] In 1934 the palace became the official residence of the first President of Estonia, Konstantin Päts who embarked on extensive and controversial restoration works with the aim of transforming the park and the palace into his private domain. From this era, the library in elaborate so-called Danzig baroque style, completed by architect Olev Siinmaa in 1939 is worth mentioning.[6] A purpose-built presidential palace on the grounds (1938) was designed by Alar Kotli.

4K City Walks: Tallinn Estonia's Kodriorg Park - Virtual Walk Walking Treadmill Video we take you on a tour of Kodriorg Park. One of the largest parks in Tallinn, Kodriorg began as the grounds of the Tsar's palace. Walking through the park you will find many flower gardens, fountains, paths, ponds, a Japanese Garden, the Czar’s summer palace, playgrounds, museums, and a wonderful little cafe built in the former gatehouse with the best almond croissants I’ve ever had. The park is incredibly peaceful and between the Song Festival Grounds, the sea, and Kodriorg Neighborhood.
From VisitEstonia.com
Kadriorg Park is the most outstanding palatial and urban park in Estonia, covering around 70 hectares. Its construction began in 1718 on the orders of Russian tsar Peter I. Elements of park design from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries can be seen here.
The most popular places for a stroll in the park are the flower beds surrounding the Swan Pond and the promenade leading from there to the president's palace.
There are a number of museums in the park, including KUMU (the Estonian Art Museum), Kadriorg Art Museum and the Mikkeli Museum, as well as monuments to such cultural figures as sculptor Amandus Adamson, author F. R. Kreutzwald and artist Jaan Koort.
