The Petrolia Discovery is a living historical site, centred around a working 19th century oil field, that stresses the importance of the development of the modern oil industry in Canada's first oil boom region, and its impact on our society both yesterday and today.
Exploring Petrolia Oil Field Ruins
Here we find the ruins of an old oil field powerhouse in Petrolia, Ontario. The powerhouse provided power to pump the oil wells via jerker lines. This powerhouse was located just east of Tank St. near the new community centre. Visit Lost Lambton, Found! for more Lambton County history.
