Ancient Egypt was a civilization of ancient Northeastern Africa, concentrated along the lower reaches of the Nile River in what is now the modern country of Egypt. It is one of six civilizations globally to arise independently. Egyptian civilization coalesced around 3150 BC (according to conventional Egyptian chronology)[1] with the political unification of Upper and Lower Egypt under the first pharaoh.[2] The history of ancient Egypt occurred in a series of stable Kingdoms, separated by periods of relative instability known as Intermediate Periods: the Old Kingdom of the Early Bronze Age, the Middle Kingdom of the Middle Bronze Age and the New Kingdom of the Late Bronze Age.

Pharaoh Walkthrough: Mission 27 - Seti in the Valley (Deir El-Medina 3) [1/3]
Seti in the Valley is the third of four trips to Deir El-Medina and requires much more than the previous two, which include a bigger tomb, more people and higher ratings.
The first thing you will notice about this mission is that there is an extra dock port, more straight line coasts and more water ways. This is deliberate because of the higher ratings that are being requested. You will also notice the military button isn't greyed out, but there is still no military activity in this mission: the only reason it is available is to deal with Crime Waves*.
There is a Temple Complex to Ra already placed which will keep Ra happy most of the time. Your other gods are Osiris and Ptah, make sure to keep them happy all of the time as flood quality is really quite crap in Deir El-Medina.
Begin building the city near to the jutting land which has a Ferry Landing already built. You'll need to get started quickly as many requests will come around early into the mission, namely linen. To better serve these requests, get the housing evolved to about Spacious Apartment.
Once you've gotten this bit of the city thriving, build the Beer producing settlement along the path near the Temple Complex. Overproduce barley and beer as it is one of the main requests that will continue to appear throughout the mission (between 1000-1500 beer every so often to Waset for a festival for Ra). Export whatever pottery, beer and linen you can, before building the settlement for the Large Burial Tomb, which should happen when the city has a stable income from exports.
Henna is ungrowable in this mission so it can only be imported and only Kharga and Dakhla Oasis sells Henna. If you fail to send bricks to Dakhla Oasis, the trade route with them will never open so all Henna imports would then have to come through Kharga Oasis.
Once you have a stable city that is producing a lot of income, begin preparing an area that isn't near the majority of your city for your scribes. Seti wants 12 Spacious Manors (higher is possible due to other buildings existing) but don't get any housing to Manor state until you have a LOT of unemployment. As you will learn later in the mission, too many manors without enough unemployment will cause a massive labour shortage which should never happen.
When you are ready and you have the space and workers to do so, begin building the burial tomb and importing the grave goods you will need to complete the mission!
This part covers preparing the city and increasing the population to a level which would be suitable, along with generating income. The next part covers preparing the city for the monument and the final part covers finishing the monument.

Amenhotep IV (Akhenaten), Tutankhamun, Ay and Seti I 1/3
The Greatest Pharaohs 3of4 1350 BC - 30 BC Amenhotep IV (Akhenaten), Tutankhamun, Ay and Seti I
By 1353 BCE, Egypt was again stable, with much of the prosperity of the Old Kingdom. However, the ascension of Akhenaten brought a new crisis. Akhenaten was branded a heretic by history because of his attempts to transform Egypt's religion, but he was also considered remarkable by the way he shared power with Nefertiti. Covers Amenhotep IV (Akhenaten), Tutankhamun, Ay, and Seti I.

Egyptian Pyramids
Ancient Egypt was an ancient civilization of eastern North Africa, concentrated along the lower reaches of the Nile River in what is now the modern country of Egypt. The civilization coalesced around 3150 BC with the political unification of Upper and Lower Egypt under the first pharaoh, and it developed over the next three millennia. Its history occurred in a series of stable Kingdoms, separated by periods of relative instability known as Intermediate Periods. Ancient Egypt reached its pinnacle during the New Kingdom, after which it entered a period of slow decline. Egypt was conquered by a succession of foreign powers in this late period, and the rule of the pharaohs officially ended in 31 BC when the early Roman Empire conquered Egypt and made it a province.

Giant statue of Pharaoh Ramses II to be moved to Great Pyramids area

5. SOUNDBITE: (English) Ahmad Hussein, chief engineer of Arab Contractors, the company moving the statue
Today (Thursday 24 August 2006) we are trying to get familiar with the load. The drivers should know it. We made all the checks we had to do and we are preparing the thing to take off on the road on the fixed time 1 o'clock after midnight. And we hope we'll be successful.
6. Close of trailer tyres, pull back to show statue
7. Various of statue being moved very slowly
8. SOUNDBITE: (English) Ahmad Hussein, chief engineer of Arab Contractors, the company moving the statue:
We found out that the best is to transport it in the vertical position as it stands stable and without any fear on it. It was suffering from some vibrations from the underground and the heavy traffic around, so we found during the rehearsal that the vibrations on the mock statue have been less because of the damping effect of the tyres.
9. Pan left to 6th of October bridge next to the square where the statue is located
10. Tilt down from statue to the contractors involved in the move
11. MS of police officers on location
12. SOUNDBITE: (Arabic) Vox Pop
The state of the statue will deteriorate if it stays here due to the weather element and pollution. It's a good thing that it is being moved, not bad at all.

STORYLINE
A giant statue of Pharaoh Ramses II will be moved early on Friday morning from a congested square in the centre of Cairo to a more serene home near the Great Pyramids.
Egypt's antiquities chief Zahi Hawass said it was to save it from corrosive pollution.
Exhaust fumes from trains, cars and buses, as well as vibrations from underground trains, have been damaging the more than 3,200-year-old granite statue at Ramses Square, its home since the early 1950s, when it was taken from a temple at the site of the ancient Egyptian capital of Memphis.
The 125-ton statue, a popular feature on postcards and guide books, will become part of a new museum about a mile from the pyramids.
Officials have discussed moving the statue for more than a decade as experts bickered over where it should go. The location at the Grand Museum of Egypt was recently agreed upon and engineers began researching how to move it.
A steel cage has been constructed around the statue and connected to steel beams.
Two flatbed trucks will carry it through the city overnight to avoid traffic. The eight-mile trip will take several hours.
We found out that the best is to transport it is in the vertical position as it stands stable, Ahmad Hussein, chief engineer of Arab Contractors, the company moving the statue, said.
It was suffering from some vibrations from the underground and the heavy traffic around, so we found during the rehearsal that the vibrations on the mock statue have been less because of the damping effect of the tyres.
The statue will be renovated as its new home is built. The museum, which also will house King Tutankhamun's mummy and other treasures, is not expected to open for at least five years.
Ramses II was a warrior king who is credited with bringing Egypt unprecedented power and splendour during his 67-year reign. He died in 1225 B.C.
