Bird collections at Natural History Museum, London
A stuffed and mounted specimen of a Blue Jay or Indian Roller (Coracious bengalensis), White-backed Vulture, Pharoah's Chicken or White Scavenger Vulture and milling guests at the busiest natural history museum perhaps in all of Europe.
See a Black-legged Falconet and a stuffed Dodo - the closest you can now get to this extinct species! A Tawny Frogmouth from Australia - another rare species you're unlikely to see unless you really go after it. See also a Snowy Owl, Indian Long-tailed Nightjar and African Long-tailed Nightjar, a Green Magpie and the cross-section of the casque of a hornbill.
See an Ammonite and Stegodont
At 34 seconds (from 33 to 38 seconds) into the clip is the EXTINCT Dodo! See the bird eggs of extinct species (Elephant Bird and Moa) from 1:46 to 2:20.
Frogmouth, Snow Owl and Nightjars, all birds of the night.
See from 1:06 till 1:29 the cross-section of the casque of a Hornbill (this is the 'double' bill on top of the beak!).
From 1:31 to 2:20, see different bird eggs from the tiniest (Hummingbird) to the largest (Elephant Bird, Ostrich, etc.)
The Museum's bird collections include eggs, nests, skins, skeletons and specimens preserved in spirit. Housed in the Natural History Museum at Tring, they are among the largest ornithological collections in the world. The collections are cared for by the Museum's Bird Group.
The Natural History Museum in London is a museum exhibiting a vast range of specimens from various segments of natural history. It is one of three major museums on Exhibition Road in South Kensington, the others being the Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. The Natural History Museum's main frontage, however, is on Cromwell Road.
The museum is home to life and earth science specimens comprising some 80 million items within five main collections: botany, entomology, mineralogy, palaeontology and zoology. The museum is a world-renowned centre of research specialising in taxonomy, identification and conservation. Given the age of the institution, many of the collections have great historical as well as scientific value, such as specimens collected by Charles Darwin. The museum is particularly famous for its exhibition of dinosaur skeletons and ornate architecture—sometimes dubbed a cathedral of nature—both exemplified by the large Diplodocus cast which dominates the vaulted central hall. The Natural History Museum Library contains extensive books, journals, manuscripts, and artwork collections linked to the work and research of the scientific departments; access to the library is by appointment only.
Although commonly referred to as the Natural History Museum, it was actually officially known as British Museum (Natural History) until 1992, despite legal separation from the British Museum itself in 1963. Originating from collections within the British Museum, the landmark Alfred Waterhouse building was built and opened by 1881, and later incorporated the Geological Museum. The Darwin Centre is a more recent addition, partly designed as a modern facility for storing the valuable collections.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Grasshoppers are a group of insects belonging to the suborder Caelifera. They are among what is probably the most ancient living group of chewing herbivorous insects, dating back to the early Triassic around 250 million years ago.
Grasshoppers are typically ground-dwelling insects with powerful hind legs which allow them to escape from threats by leaping vigorously. As hemimetabolous insects, they do not undergo complete metamorphosis; they hatch from an egg into a nymph or hopper which undergoes five moults, becoming more similar to the adult insect at each developmental stage. At high population densities and under certain environmental conditions, some grasshopper species can change color and behavior and form swarms. Under these circumstances, they are known as locusts.
Grasshoppers are plant-eaters, with a few species at times becoming serious pests of cereals, vegetables and pasture, especially when they swarm in their millions as locusts and destroy crops over wide areas. They protect themselves from predators by camouflage; when detected, many species attempt to startle the predator with a brilliantly-coloured wing-flash while jumping and (if adult) launching themselves into the air, usually flying for only a short distance. Other species such as the rainbow grasshopper have warning coloration which deters predators. Grasshoppers are affected by parasites and various diseases, and many predatory creatures feed on both nymphs and adults. The eggs are subject to attack by parasitoids and predators.
Grasshoppers have had a long relationship with humans. Swarms of locusts can have devastating effects and cause famine, and even in smaller numbers, the insects can be serious pests. They are used as food in countries such as Mexico and Indonesia. They feature in art, symbolism and literature.
In the beginning God created heaven and earth - Noah and the flood - Genesis - Chapter 1
This Series is all about the Holy Bible, God and Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. This is Chapter 1 of #13. No Greater Joy Ministries has the DVD set to this Animated Biblical Series:
Jesus said, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Behold, it was very good.—This final blessing of God’s completed work on the Friday must be compared with the final words of Christ spoken of the second creation, upon the same day of the week, when He said “It is finished.” Next we must notice that this world was only good until man was placed upon it, but then became very good. This verdict, too, had respect to man as a species, and is not therefore annulled by the fall. In spite, therefore, of the serious responsibilities attendant upon the bestowal of freewill on man, we believe that the world is still for purposes of mercy, and that God not only rejoiced at first, but “shall rejoice in His works” (Psalm 104:31). (Psalm 85:10; Romans 5:15)
Satan assaulted our first parents, to draw them to sin, and the temptation proved fatal to them. The tempter was the devil, in the shape and likeness of a serpent. Satan's plan was to draw our first parents to sin, and so to separate between them and their God. Thus the devil was from the beginning a murderer, and the great mischief maker. The person tempted was the woman: it was Satan's policy to enter into talk with her when she was alone. There are many temptations to which being alone gives great advantage; but the communion of saints tends very much to their strength and safety. Satan took advantage by finding her near the forbidden tree. They that would not eat the forbidden fruit, must not come near the forbidden tree. Satan tempted Eve, that by her he might tempt Adam. It is his policy to send temptations by hands we do not suspect, and by those that have most influence upon us. Satan questioned whether it were a sin or not, to eat of this tree. He did not disclose his design at first, but he put a question which seemed innocent. Those who would be safe, need to be shy of talking with the tempter. He quoted the command wrong. He spoke in a taunting way. The devil, as he is a liar, so he is a scoffer from the beginning; and scoffers are his children. It is the craft of Satan to speak of the Divine law as uncertain or unreasonable, and so to draw people to sin; it is our wisdom to keep up a firm belief of God's command, and a high respect for it. Has God said, Ye shall not lie, nor take his name in vain, nor be drunk, &c.? Yes, I am sure he has, and it is well said; and by his grace I will abide by it. It was Eve's weakness to enter into this talk with the serpent: she might have perceived by his question, that he had no good design, and should therefore have started back. Satan teaches men first to doubt, and then to deny. He promises advantage from their eating this fruit. He aims to make them discontented with their present state, as if it were not so good as it might be, and should be. No condition will of itself bring content, unless the mind be brought to it. He tempts them to seek preferment, as if they were fit to be gods. Satan ruined himself by desiring to be like the Most High, therefore he sought to infect our first parents with the same desire, that he might ruin them too. And still the devil draws people into his interest, by suggesting to them hard thoughts of God, and false hopes of advantage by sin. Let us, therefore, always think well of God as the best good, and think ill of sin as the worst evil: thus let us resist the devil, and he will flee from us.

Why do you come to Egypt? Do you come to gain a dream, or to regain lost dreams of old; to gild your life with the drowsy gold of romance, to lose a creeping sorrow, to forget that too many of your hours are sullen, grey, bereft? What do you wish of Egypt?

The Bible, King James version, Book 22: Song of Solomon
22:001:001 The song of songs, which is Solomon's.
22:001:002 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is
better than wine.
22:001:003 Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as
ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.
22:001:004 Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into
his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will
remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.
22:001:005 I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the
tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.
22:001:006 Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath
looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they
made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard
have I not kept.
22:001:007 Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where
thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as
one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions?
22:001:008 If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth
by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the
shepherds' tents.
22:001:009 I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in
Pharaoh's chariots.
22:001:010 Thy cheeks are comely with rows of jewels, thy neck with
chains of gold.
22:001:011 We will make thee borders of gold with studs of silver.
22:001:012 While the king sitteth at his table, my spikenard sendeth
forth the smell thereof.
22:001:013 A bundle of myrrh is my well-beloved unto me; he shall lie all
night betwixt my breasts.
22:001:014 My beloved is unto me as a cluster of camphire in the
vineyards of Engedi.
22:001:015 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou
hast doves' eyes.
22:001:016 Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed
is green.
22:001:017 The beams of our house are cedar, and our rafters of fir.
22:002:001 I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.
22:002:002 As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.
22:002:003 As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my
beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great
delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.
22:002:004 He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me
was love.
22:002:005 Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: for I am sick of
love.
22:002:006 His left hand is under my head, and his right hand doth
embrace me.

Five Children and It Audiobook by E. Nesbit | Audiobook with subtitles
This delightful novel begins when a family of five children moves from London to the English countryside. While playing in a gravel pit soon after the move, they discover an ancient and rather grumpy sand-fairy known as the Psammead, who agrees to grant one wish of theirs per day. The children’s wishes send them on adventure after adventure, but rarely turn out as expected. (Summary by Kara)
