John Wurdeman (Pheasant's Tears, Georgia) and the amber wine Rkatsiteli. 53° #humanwine
Tell us about your wine as if it were a person!
We played with the empathy, the metaphors, the puns and the project #humanwine project was born: tales of wine between the serious and humorous.
In this video we meet John Wurdeman from Georgia, farm Pheasant's Tears, and his dry unfiltered amber wine Rkatsiteli
Talking to those who care about the wine from the vine to the bottle we quickly realized that there’s a lot to tell about a wine: how it’s made, how it looks, how it changes over time and how it expresses its territory .
The winegrowers talk passionately about all of this as if they were talking about themselves or about a son or a family member, a friend or a lover.
What gender is it? How old is he/she? Where is he/she from? If he/she could speak what would he/she say?
We talk about wine ... and much more!

Wine Expert tastes Georgian Wine: Pheasant's Tears Mstvane 2016
This week on Wine Tasting with Connal Finlay DWS; Connal is tasting through a range of Georgian wines from one of the top producers in the country: Pheasant's Tears. Pheasant's Tears is headed by the incredibly passionate John Wurdeman who set up his winery in 2006 after just falling in love with the culture and landscape of Georgia. They use purely the local grape varietals in their wines and they use traditional winemaking techniques.
The Mtsvane is an incredibly complex wine that has been made as an orange wine, locally known as an amber wine. This gives the wine extra colour, flavour intensity and a touch of tannin. Not be scared of at all!
